Unlike criminologist professor Wilson when describing psychopathy , I felt this professor of psychiatry described his experience of Brady and personal reaction to Brady , without sensationalism or pitting his own professional ego against Brady.

27:07 autistic 😳 Detachment, callousness, sadism. Thats an interesting perspective. The mind is an organ I don’t think we will ever completely understand.

I think people like Brady are disabled in a similar way to people who are colour blind (though in a far less dangerous way, of course). Their lack of empathy is an example of missing parts of humanity. They are less than the rest of us, not more.

The thought of Brady being in Broadmoor, where he would’ve encountered Jimmy Savile, is horrific in my opinion. I think Brady found out it was a bad idea to get moved to a psychiatric facility in general, so I can’t imagine what Broadmoor might’ve done for him besides hooking him up with someone just as vile.

I corresponded with Ian Brady and wrote about it in "Voices from the Inside" that is on amazon. I also reproduced his letters.

Terrific interview with the good doctor who appears to have a beautiful mind and warm disposition. For anyone reading, if you really want the most keen insights into the Moors murders, listen to David Smith’s only on-camera interview. It is devastating, as he was the only objective third party to witness one of the murders and escape to tell about it. I was never thrilled with the way Winnie treated David in the press, but she certainly gets a free pass.

One question not answered is was it a abnormality in his brain to choose to kill. Or was it his choice ?
@calum17412 ай бұрын
I’d say an abnormality. No one in their right mind could do what they did.

I heard Ian was pimped out in jail. Part of me wishes I knew what was going on. I hope he was okay in there but at least I know he’s okay now. He doesn’t seem to want to talk about it.

I’m leaving messages for posterity so I’m going to keep commenting on KZbin on all my favourite videos. Ian Brady did he traumatised by killing children, everybody would be. But Myra? No she is like Nazis who bowed to Hitler. One pretty Antichrist face later they’d been murdering babies like it was a Christmas gift to do so. Then they murdered Christ for forgiving him. He loves me. Ian is with me and I look after him now. Jesus looks after him in Heaven and you can never steal precious Ian back

I was a mental health nurse, worked extensively with forensic sectioned patients. Only met one who was 'evil'. Rest were normal people who had commited horrible crimes, some would may never reoffend ever again, some would reoffend as soon as given the opportunity. Wasnt for me to decide, i was just there to provide treatment. For example, there was couple murdered by a man with a samurai sword on a beach in south shields (,yorks UK). We all said he should never be released. Yet he was able to convince the CPS and MDTs he was no risk. I imagine brady was no different.

Not helpful to speculate supposed autism without making a diagnosis. Most autistic people are socially inept rather than glib or manipulative like a psychopath.

The doctor said he felt 'privileged' to have worked on the Brady case, and welcomed the opportunity to 'learn' from him - unfortunate choice of words ... Although he's speaking from a rofeessional perspective, it felt as if Brady's sense of grandiosity was vindicated 😒

I like Pro.Jeremy's self awareness when he says that he was possibly engaged in counter- transference when interviewing Brady. But I would love to know who it was that Brady reminded him of that was possibly interfering with his objective analysis of Brady? Pro.Jeremy said he felt an ever growing dislike of Brady. Did Jeremy have an ever growing dislike of his own father, a teacher, a clergyman, a doctor, a lover? Brady was not then the first person that Jeremy had an ever growing dislike for. I would like to see Pro.Jeremy put on the psychiatrist's couch and interviewed by a fellow psychiatrist, preferably under hypnosis.

" worse murders?" What could be worse than what these two monsters did? ( Hindley just as guilty as him 😡😠) Took young innocent, vulnerable kids off the street by using HER as bait because women are supposed to be nice not evil, tortured, abused, murdered them whilst laughing at the doomed children's sobbing to be let go , and not only that the vile #@@##s TAPED THEM. The sixteen year old fared no better...he was lured to the house and whilst he innocently sat on the sofa, Brady came up behind him and split his skull with a bloody great axe. The teenager was not killed immediately but in unimaginable shock and pain , cried out for his Mother while Brady continued to butcher him and Hindley looked on laughing gleefully. The body was trussed up and treated like rubbish as were all the other bodies . Obviously this horrible story has a lot more to it and dragged on in history because of the lenient sentences given to these butchers. It's tragic they escaped the death penalty as ..who needs evil like this in the world?
