So I bought what I thought was a region free Saturn (Bios built in) on Ebay. The description for the wrong product code. I ended up getting a regular Japanese Saturn. The seller gave me a full refund. So I bought a action replay card to play domestic. It's so ironic I need a Action replay cart to play games from my own soil 🤣🤣🤣

This video was amazing! It helped me a lot, I went to play my virtual boy today and the left screen was glitched and I didn’t know what to do, so I’m glad someone made a video on it! I used my sister’s hair dryer which also worked!

Replaced the Power Input and Pico fuse, Continuity in the Power switch, no power. Sad I guess I must have fried the mobo or something.....SNES' are absolute crap for these shoddy fuse problems and they all deserve to be trashed.

Just wanna say even if you get continuity on the DC jack make sure you clean it out to make sure its not dirty/corroded. Checked everything on my super famicom and was ready to resort to a full recap but I decided to clean the jack for the heck of it - turns out a dirty power jack was the problem.

Baking is of course a solution, but you really don't want to be heating up the whole led unit just to fix the solder. What I did recently with my own VB, was remove the led unit and apply heat directly with a heat shrink covering iron. You don't risk damaging the led end with extraneous heat and it helps the solder joint to remain flat. I considered applying heat with a soldering tip like with a Gameboy screen but the cable appears too delicate for that. Covering irons are cheap, I recommend picking one up.

I was afraid I had a bootleg of SvC Chaos after noticing the label was custom and the PCB had a weird tiny board sitting on top of one of the RAM chips, but the PCBs are original even with that tiny board, it's just that the label was custom. lol

Does anyone know if you can use a can of CRC to clean the cartridge contacts? I've used it on old pinball machine connector blocks but there is no board anywhere near it, just pins

Could you please tell me where to check my snes it's only giving green and black on the output to the screen and it looks like a gameboy 🙈 I have a soldering iron and a good multimeter, which resistors could be blown up? Thank you for the video... I'll try it out on my second snes which doesn't turn on

I knew as soon as you opened that yellow cart that it was a bootleg due to the way the SNK logo appeared on the top board! It never, ever, should look like that and they’ve never used lower case letters for their logo. Not to mention that the letters never appear in the middle of the boards either.
@Galvinize036 жыл бұрын
While It is true that the action replay cart CAN run region locked games it can't play ALL Japanese games. The game's it won't play are the games that require the RAM expansion cart. The only way you can get around this, (to my knowledge) is modding your saturn to install a switch to play Japanese games. Just a fair warning to Saturn buyers.

I will have to check this out cause I had my SNES open to clean out the 62 bit part and it worked great as I tried some games before closing it back up but the switch was touching part of the Motherboard when I switch it on and then it wouldn't come back on again...I already ordered a new switch, which is fine as they only run about $4, but now I might be thinking it's the fuse...I'll have to check it out...but it shorted out after touching something when power went through
@DASamX54536 жыл бұрын
Just checked....took a wire and jumped the leads on the fuse to check and the power light came on...take it off...no light...my Multimeter does not have a Connunity or whatever it's called symbol to check connection on it...guess it's a cheapo..but this tells me what my problem is....

Gotta thank you: worked perfectly! I was skeptical when I baked the circuits because it didn't look like they adhered any better to the board than before, but wow...it worked! Had a hell of a time getting the case back on right...in fact, I still can't line up the adjustment slide and knob up top, but I rarely used that, anyway. Thanks again!

Hi, I have a problem with my SNES, power switch and all is working fine, but often the games don't load up. Sometimes they do though, sometimes at first try, sometimes it needs many tries, sometimes they just don't work. Sometimes a game crashes. Is this a problem with the console or is it more likely a problem with the modules. I read somewhere that low batteries can cause problems besides the loss of savegames. I looked inside some of the modules, and they all seem to be in pretty good shape, I mean no obvious damage or leaking battery.
@NinoJoel6 жыл бұрын
Its normal that they won't start all the time. Crashes on the other hand are not normal unless it gets moved.
