Hey Japan Chan! I managed to get to the summit last week but sadly it was raining with extreme wind and i did not managed to catch the sunrise. I had to head back down as it was too cold. Looking back at this video i am really jealous you got to see the Goraiko <3

very detailed video, i am climbing it next week, any tips?
@Japan-chan
@Japan-chan 26 күн бұрын
Thanks and I really wish you luck! My general tips would be to eat well the day before, have some kind of stick, and keep your bag as light as you can. There are lockers at the 5th station and a bunch of shops you can use. But my biggest regret was not bringing bandaids and an extra pair of socks for the way down. Honestly the trail is steep and repetitive. Walk on your heels on the way down, otherwise you stub your toes lol. I learnt the hard way. But then your heels blister hard. Noone talks about that. Maybe those silicone pads would be good just for the down part. And coins! Lol Honestly i should make a tips video. But those are my main ones. Seriously wish you good luck with the climb and the weather.

The cabin toilets from the 7th station up all had sinks where you can wash you hands. You have yo pay the 200 yen though, except the cabin you stay at, I think you can just use those freely. You can see a little at 14:14 and 24:35

Great question! I can't remember exactly actually, but I would suggest taking a roll of tissue, it's pretty light and better not to get caught short. Plus, could be good for blowing your nose too. It's pretty cold at the top and in the morning. And if you get cut by accident like I did.

Yeah sadly it closed for good. I heard it'll go to Osaka in 2025, but maybe just as a statue for an event. There is a pretty big Gundam statue in Odaiba Tokyo right outside a shopping mall. It's not the same, but it's free and worth it, pretty quick too. Also, in that shopping mall is the "cute poop museum". - if you go to the Gundam, you at least need to look at it. Nice video. Very informative. I like the videography and your narration. How did you get around town and from place to place? Did you rent a car, take public bus or taxi? Keep up the great work!
@Japan-chan
@Japan-chan 5 ай бұрын
Great question! Around Kawaguchiko town I mostly used busses and walking. Kawaguchiko station is also a major bus/coach station which can take you anywhere you'd want to go - including Fuji Q, the ice caves, and Mt Fuji itself. They are so convenient that I never needed to use a taxi or car. As a side note, the trains from Kawaguchiko have awesome design features, such as the pattern on the chairs being Mt Fuji, a train with various "Mt Fuji mascots" on, and even a Naruto train for Fuji Q. The busses and coaches all have similar interesting designs. I'd highly recommend using the public transport for that reason alone 😁 Also, thanks for your encouraging comment! It really means a lot, I'll keep trying to do better.

Should we just hike down the mountain after checking out Daibutsa instead of rehiking back all the way up for the Ropeway?
@Japan-chan
@Japan-chan 10 ай бұрын
Hmm good question. If you take the same route I did then you definitely could. You would also get to see some old mining equipment, more of the mined mountain cliffs, and the surrounding forest trails. It's a good option if you if any of that. It might take a little longer but nothing drastic. However, i should have mentioned in the video that there are a few routes you can take.. Just after the peak, down the stairs and entering the gate, their is a fork in the path. I think this route goes to the daibutsu firat. So you could go that way and avoid the double incline. There are also a few different routes going up, so even if you do double up, there are different things to see. They have maps.. i wish I picked one up 😅
