Great video! May I know what are ways to utilize the credit balances from the credit card? Like credit transfer which normally incur very high interest rate and bank charges

It seems like a weird concept to me to tell somebody with a giant sum of money and limited motivation to not spend it on something that would secure them but a condo with no plan is definatly not a good option either. On the other hand following a dream of travelling and having fun is a pretty big deal especially when he sounds like he's lost the "spark". Guess sometimes the only good investment is the investment in yourself.

I'm noticing a big difference in monthly prices on your vid compared to my account for the same subscriptions. NASDAQ (Network C/UTP) in your case is 1.50 a month. But in my case it's 25.00 a month. Your vid is only a year old. Any explanation why? I'm in Canada??

Bitcoin futures and micro bitcoin futures on the CME exchange. The only other way would be if there is a BTC ETF available. Spot Crypto on IBKR is not available in Canada right now.

Thank you very much Verrillo!!; my view on rolling credit spreads (for instante a bull put) is to roll it first to a Bear Put (which is consistent given you have to buy the leg you sold and sell the leg you bought) and then roll it again to the Bull put; this will imply more fees for IBKR and widen the initial bull put spread to match the price in case you don't want to pay for rolling, but it may help in case the initial bull put is ITM. In this case, IBKR mobile app and desktop displays correctly the information of the strategy.

Could you consider creating a video focused on hedging strategies specifically using Interactive Brokers. While I've learned a lot about trading on the platform, I find myself often wondering about the most effective ways to hedge my positions, especially with stocks or ETFs I currently hold. Topics that would be particularly interesting could include: Any unique features or tools within Interactive Brokers that facilitate or enhance hedging. Tips on managing and adjusting these hedges over time. I believe a video on this topic would not only help me but also a lot of your viewers who might be looking into ways to manage risk more effectively. Your insights, given your experience with Interactive Brokers, would be invaluable. Thank you in advance for considering this request.

You gave him great advice. I'm mid-40's and currently scaling out of Canadian real estate - it's cooked for the most part, and the dysfunction of the LTB makes it downright dangerous as a property owner. I have two people in my circle of friends who had tenants move in and immediately stop paying rent, then demand "cash for keys" $10-25k to leave asap or else wait for upwards of a year to the hearing process to play out. Don't do it. I'm sure you could advise him on an investment portfolio that would easily outperform Canadian real estate. And you're absolutely right - economy in Canada is in bad shape. I'd leave but I have kids and elderly parents to factor in.

Thank you for sharing. I agree with you that it likely is not a good decision for your dad based on his age and location (likely larger city in Canada). It sounds like he is rushing into a decision and has not had enough time to evaluate where he stands and what he would like to do with the next few decades of life. I feel that he should step back and really think hard about his interests and passions and not lock into buying a shoe box with a mortgage and high condo fees. In particular, in Canada where there the housing market remains overvalued and the future prospects for the economy are not great. Perhaps he is taking what he thinks is the safe option that is perceived as comfortable and socially acceptable, particularly within Canada - where renting is shunned. I can somewhat relate since I recently turned his age, live in Ontario and am planning to retire in a few years. My wife and I are keeping our eyes open to options including downsizing, living overseas during the cold season, and also want to be able to travel and adapt to situations as the arise. My children are a similar age to you and I would like to be able to visit them and their future families wherever they may end up - they have careers that allow them a lot of flexibility. Best of luck - I am sure your dad is very proud of you.

I have the following question. At the beginning you are showing the example with T-Bills. So, your account has 'Net Liquidity' of 50.1k CAD. You buy T-Bills worth 50k and end up with 'Maintenance Margin' off 677 CAD. Question, could you buy as much T-Bills as 'Maintenance Margin' gets to 50.1k CAD?
@VerrilloTrading
@VerrilloTrading 5 күн бұрын
Yes.
@peterschiffer3582
@peterschiffer3582 5 күн бұрын
@@VerrilloTrading Sorry, I think my question was not clear. Is the 'Net Liquidity' of 50.1k CAD already because of Margin ? IBKR has in EU only Cash or Margin type accounts. If you deposit $10000 in your Account your 'Net Liquidity' is $10000 for Cash and Margin Account. What changes is the buying power effect if you buy/sell stock, options etc. That was question: If I use Margin with IBKR can I buy T-Bills worth more than my initial deposit? So, do I get leverage ?

I haven't seen a way of doing this, only obtaining the margin for individual positions. It may be possible if you can find the margin impact field in the list of items you can add as a watchlist or quote monitor column.

You've got some good videos on how to use IBKR. Do you ever do videos on money management and risk management? Would you ever share your equity curve, if not in USD terms then in a non-currency way to allow discussion of maximum drawdowns, which is a major part of trading. Techniques are part of the equation, but ultimately it's all about the numbers and risk management over the long term.

@se6661 this is a good way from my experience. If you want to try and reduce commissions, you could experiment with limit order submit them above the asking price (for a buy) and enable post only. It might take a second or two more to fill, but you insured that your order is passive so you never take liquidity. If you need speed, then adaptive is probably the way to go.

First and foremost, thank you so much for this absolutely phenomenal video. And now i’ll spill the beans about buying indices on ibrk. Thanks in advance. I’m from Europe (spain), and i sadly don’t have a KPI in english, so i’m not allowed to buy U.S.A indices such as qqq, Spdr and other Etf’s. This said, i can trade options on them, so i can sell puts and get assigned, but to sell them, i need to give up 100% initial margin on the risk of the option, and i don’t have enough cash balance to buy 100 qqq shares as i would need to in case i get assigned, so they won’t let me sell them if i don’t buy a put option to mitigate the downside risk (put credit spread), i’m my imaginary case scenario, i could do a very wide spread, so the price of the etf falls in between the put i sold and the one i bought, then get assigned, and since the margin requirements for qqq in this case is around 10% initial and manteinance, i’ll get to keep those shares on margin.! (Happy me) but i’m afraid if this happends, instead of getting assigned shares, ibkr would just take the loss of the underlying put sold from my margin account net balance, and make me lose money. Do you think this is viable? Would i get assigned shares if price goes in between my spread…Or will i just realize the loss? Maybe i can test this on paper? I feel like it would be a lot of help for Tons of people. Thank you thank you thank you. Anyone please feel free to comment. Amazing video sorry i repeat myself. Amazing.
