I was in 1st year high school when I watched the movie Lock Up in a theater near school. This song played at the end of the movie and the beginning of the credits. I remember being so captivated by it, that I stayed to finish it play even though the lights were already on. In the movie Stallone and his girlfriend would exchange a hand gesture. When I had my very first girlfriend in 1991, we made the same hand gesture. We're happily married to this day.

Although I was aware of Survivor, I really just started listening to them again. I absolutely love Jimi's voice and regret not paying more attention to his singing in the past. So sad he passed away about 9 years ago. I'm just fascinated by him now.

Love Jimi's rendition of this song. Bickler is amazing, but Jimi's voice seems to fit Ever Since the World Began so much better.

I actually had no clue this was a cover of the song by Survivor. The first time I ever heard the song was Jimi's version in Lock Up. I don't hate the Survivor original but this is superior IMO.
