@spanglishangler i have the video up though I only got from 8pm to 10:43pm wish i had bought a 900 cca marine battery, a 6 amp battery freshener and cables to run into the cars battery. I could have gotten all night until morning if I had done that. Since the real fury seemed to happen between 4am ending at 6am. I can also safely say the winds had to have been gusting over 100mph still.

Hello my friend. I know it is kind of late to response! But if I ever do it again (thinking about it) I will go straight to the outboard motor. Less complications and easier setup in my opinion. Did you ended up pulling the trigger?

Hello I have a Crescent Litetackle 2 that I am looking to add a trolling motor on. I like your motor mount. Looks very clean, I’m curious… do you have any issues with the motor angling up out of the water when you have it on higher speeds? I was just wondering because I didn’t see any locking system for the mount to prevent tilting at the hinges when being used.
@spanglishangler
@spanglishangler 8 ай бұрын
Hello there and glad you like my setup. I was planning to add a pin/locking mechanism to avoid the lifting of the motor while going on reverse. After the water test, that was not needed. The weight proportion of the trolling motor is perfect, and no lift motion happened during the period I use this setup. Good luck with your setup my friend.

I think i was going at 9" to 10" of water with no problem. But obvisuly all depends of the equipment and weight you take. I am around 165lb and possibly took an extra 20lb of gear with me. You can definitly can go very skinny with this setup. Thanks for watching and the comment my friend.

Hello, I’m working on the same outboard motor with the outlaw 11.5. could you tell me how many inches long is the Vertical piece of lumber, holding the motor up? and is you outboard the 15’ model? also are you happy with the Depth of the propeller in the water. any help would be appreciated.

Hello my friend. Sadly, I sold the kayak and motor already and did not took measurements for records. Sorry. All I can tell you is making it longer than what you think you will need and then take it on the water for a ride. From there you can always cut the length, but definitely can’t add with ease. Make sure the test ride you make is with the equipment (weight) you will normally be carrying. Good luck and have fun.
