I’m interested in your skiff. Do you think a 3gal external tank will fit behind the seat? What external tank are you using?
@spanglishangler2 жыл бұрын
@@freshsaltyfries5078 You have plenty space back there to transport a bigger gas tank. Is 17” from the seat to the motor transom and 26” wide. 3 gallon is an over kill (in my opinion) unless you are planning a looong 20+ mile trip. I use a 1gl Scepter tank and that’s enough fuel for 10 miles trips that I usually make plus couple of hours in idle. And I end up with extra fuel to use on my weed eater back at home. Here is the link for my gas tank. www.lowes.com/pd/Scepter-USA-1-Gallon-Plastic-Gasoline-Can/1000772334?cm_mmc=shp-_-c-_-prd-_-

Did you check out the hoodoo and the solo skiff what do you think about them
@spanglishangler2 жыл бұрын
Yes,, I did checked both, the Hoodoo and the Solo. The Hoodoo is basically the same skiff. Just imported by a different company and advertised with a different name. Identical. The difference is customer services. I did not have a good experience with Hoodoo dealer in Florida. So I contacted Nirvana Watersports (Striker Skiff dealer in FL) and Nelson was great. I am always a believer that you buy from people that wants to ern your business, and that’s what Nelson did. The Solo you can only find used. The Solo is a nice skiff. But heavier and comes in most cases without accessories. While The Striker is lighter and comes with lots of extra. I did a side by side video with a Solo Skiff with Yeah Man Fishing and both had pros and cons. In my opinion the pros of the Striker for me was better than the pros of the Solo. MPH was only about 1 mile different both using 6hp outboards. But at the same time I am like 167lb while Yeah Man Fishing is like 135lb. So maybe body weight was a factor. The Striker also sits a lot higher than the Solo. Making it better for me on the Striker plus the light weight. Hope this was helpful.

Do you think one of these could fit a second person sitting on the front storage bin
@spanglishangler2 жыл бұрын
I think is doable. It all the depends of the weight of the person and obviously is not going to be comfortable in my opinion.

Can you add a trolling motor to the stern or bow instead of using a motor
@spanglishangler2 жыл бұрын
Oh yes you can. That was going to be my next move. Until I ended up selling the Skiff and getting a boat. But plenty space for a trolling motor.

What was the top speed with the 6hp outboard ?
@spanglishangler2 жыл бұрын
I belive I clocked 12mph. With adjustments! I think I could reach 15mph to 16mph on a good day.
