If you are looking for a natural and organic shampoo I’d recommend Greek olive oil soap. It’s hypoallergenic, lasts a long time and doesn’t dry my hair (2b-3a) out as much. I like PAPOUTSANIS brand but I am not sure it’s available in South Africa just check it only contains olive oil and lye and it should work the same.

Yooooo I feel you I love braids for a long protective style ❤but this time I joined on the cornrows it's only been 19 days but ummm I don't think I'll keep them for 2 months I'm scared of the matting But I'll try new to push to 6 weeks but with the washing biweekly or weekly God bless 😅
@zinhle.africa18 сағат бұрын
Lol I totally understand, once you experience mini braids on natural hair, it’s difficult to go back to anything else 😅 Personally I know my hair will be matting either way, so I’ll keep going. If you feel like changing the style up will help you in the long run, of course go ahead, 6 weeks is still an accomplishment 🤍🙏🏾

The pressure to look "cute" is setting me back. July was my birthday so i couldn't keep my protective style ( medium braids) because I wanted to look a certain way. I don't like wigs at all so that's not an option. I have installed new medium braids that i want to keep for 3 months, they will just have to deal with it on the streets. I love your hair ❤ Do you go out like that to work? or do you wear wigs?

Lol I hear you and don’t feel bad it was your birthday after all!!! Happy Belated Birthday hun 💐🎉🥂 I hope the rest of this year shows you more and more blessings 🤍 I feel the same way about wigs, I gave them away years ago. In public I wear my fancy headwraps and at home I’m also in my silk/satin scarf. Please try them out (with a silk/ satin scarf or bonnet underneath)☺️❤️

Please how can one eradicate lice and nits from hair totally..
@zinhle.africa18 сағат бұрын
Prioritise the use of oils in your hair, the lice and nits have a hard time holding onto the hair strand when it’s well lubricated. Do hot oil treatments and seal with oils when you moisturise, but wash the hair more regularly (with a lice comb) to get them completely out) This is what I have always known to be the solution but I’ve never put it to the test, please let me know how it goes.

@zinhle.africa18 сағат бұрын
I noticed that it’s quite popular so I gave it a try in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/roK7f4qrobetrsk All in all, it’s nice to put it in your spray bottle for extra moisture, hair growth benefits and preventing hairloss but it makes any formulation a little bit murky, especially water. It’s a good ingredient to assist other ingredients in a formulation or routine. I’d give it a 7/10

how often can i moistirise my hair.? and do i use oil/grease to seal in the moistire every time i moistirise. my ends are getting thin but my hair is growing. i eat healty,drink alot and do sports.i wash every 2week(sometimes with appel cider vinegar ),started with hotoil treatment once per month. i use herb tea for my moisture. i will start using coffee for my shed hair. plse answer on the moistire with sealing question. thank you
@zinhle.africa16 сағат бұрын
Hey hun, firstly yes always seal with an oil. How often you moisturise depends on when your hair needs it (moisturise just before it gets dry). Your ends need more attention, always put more product on them for extra protection. I’ll be making a more detailed moisturising video soon. Stay tuned ❤️

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ How do you stop them from locking? Mine lock from 3 weeks.
@zinhle.africa18 сағат бұрын
In my opinion our kind of hair does some kind of locking when it dries up from being wet. Either way it can always be detangled, it’s not a bad thing 🤷🏽♀️

I love that I'm seeing a South African talking about growing their hair. When i talk about hair growth a lot of my South African friends think that achieving long hair is more possible if you are of sub saharan, west african descent. When it really mostly has to do with how you take care of your hair

Went natural again in 2019 but went through heat damage in 2020-21. So I lost a lot of length but my hair is thicker and healthier. Except I feel like it’s been stagnant for a while and maybe I should’ve cut it all off after the damage.

I’m so sorry about that 🥺 to a certain extent it’s not your fault, you just need a heighten awareness. Products and routine are important but I often say that natural hair is spiritual and it’s a lifestyle. On a personal intimate level there’s something that needs to be unlocked - remember our hair is a reflection of our wins and where we’re lacking. I hope this makes sense 🤍🙏🏾

18:19 But I don't think that wearing wigs nowadays is jut a stylistic choice that implies a certain status. In the time of our ancestors, only the elite wore wigs and extensions (which were kinky or braided) and ordinary people wore their natural hair. Nowadays, regardless of social class, all black women wear wigs. The comparison forces us to admit that many of us have an insecurity about their kinky hair and are unable to leave their house without a straight hair wig on. Let's not forget that the social norm today is to either relax your hair or wear a wig and there's a dark history linked to sl*very behind this unlike in the time of our ancestors. Which is why wearing a wig even if it's old and unpretty on you is always more acceptable than wearing your natural hair even if it's healthy, long and luxurious.
@zinhle.africa3 күн бұрын
In terms of the grade (quality) of the wig yes it can still be tied to status. Even today, the more more money you have, the greater the chances of you being able to afford the highest quality of hair. However I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your perspective, you definitely have a point. Even when people can’t afford the best wigs they will still settle for questionable synthetic options which speaks volumes. I can’t express how appreciative I am of all your comments, if I made this video just to have this conversation I’d be happy 🤭🤍🙏🏾
@GabomaToon3 күн бұрын
Indeed, some african ancestors used kinky hair wigs, weaves and extensions like we do today. Your research on the subject was precise and thorough. I enjoyed this video. 🎉

I enjoyed the approach you used in this video. It is true that some african people in the history use to wear wigs and extensions but I think the debate some people have about it is more focused on the insecurities some black women have about their hair.
@zinhle.africa3 күн бұрын
Hmm…I hear you, a number of women can wear wigs/extensions but there also needs to be a further analysis in how often they wear them, how and why they wear them, etc. It’s a far more complex issue, especially because of actions taken subconsciously that reflect what they’re really thinking about themselves 🤔

Are there way to seal in moisturize without oils and butters? I dislike the greasy feeling, especially on my pillowcase. And worst of all I have fungal acne so it breaks out my skin using them in my hair!
@zinhle.africa6 күн бұрын
Oils and Butters are the best sealants and moisturisers. Our ancestors used them and go amazing results. I would never recommend for you to stop using them, however lighter oils like grapeseed oil could be better for you, because you’re concerned about that greasy feeling. I have acne prone skin as well, and I can relate more than you know. I found that the enemy wasn’t oils it was my night routine. So your solution is to get a good quality satin bonnet / scarf. If you’re scared that it will slip off, put on a headscarf on top. I also found that having silk / satin pillowcases that I change out every few days also keeps the breakouts at bay
