This just has happened to me!! I never agreed or signed anything saying I was taking this insurance after my Farmers insurance would be expiring. My mortgage company paid this out of my escrow! I never even requested Slide's homeowners. It was triple! In fact, I had found another alternative homeowners insurance and my mortgage company paid that company, too. I am getting a refund back from Slide, but now my current escrow could go up by hundreds because it shows a disbursement out of the account for $3000 to Slide. My annual escrow determination is due around Dec 1, and I don't think the refund will make it to the mortgage company in time!! This is a nightmare for me! I am retired on a fixed income. I don't know what I will do if it raises my current mortgage.
