Then they bitch and complain when the kid doesn’t listen. The next time I hear some idiot teacher or school counselor tell me my son can’t handle cleaning up horse shit or looking after his brother I may just lose my mind. The issue is parents at war with the teachers and vice versa. It’s the culture of coddling kids and society stopping parents for decades. I think we should just close the schools. Problem solved.

Also identify educators, counselors, etc, who ignored the mental health issues before it got to this point. Not all parents are neglectful in their duties, but far too often we hear they couldn't find help for the kids before it got to the critical point. Mental health care should be routine healthcare annually. Once a year it should be checked to be sure all is good.

Correct about the breadth of the issue. A thorough investigation of all parts would need to follow. However, mental health assessments can be very inaccurate and are usually solely dependent on the subject's willingness to be honest.

I agree with the first half of what you said and if a threat is suspected maybe the 2nd half to a degree. Requiring annual "mental health checkups" for all is a bit to dystopian for my tastes. Again making public threats of violence is absolutely a crime in my opinion and should lead to an arrest and psych eval at the very minimum.
