Because the earth is super bright compared to dim stars, it's like trying to take a photo of a star next to the full moon while trying to see the details on it. the brightness of objects is measured by it's apparent magnitude where the smaller the number the brighter with every number getting brighter by 2.5 times the brightest star in the night sky for example is sirius at -1.4 in comparison earth as seen from the moon would be -17.5 that makes the earth from the moon 2,328,306x brighter than the brightest star in the night sky. The full moon as seen from earth at its brightest for example is -12.5 and it's still about 100x dimmer than the earth. No it's not a dumb question! The reason why rockets with fins stay straight in the air is because there is lots of air flowing over them keeping them pointed straight but as the air gets thinner the higher up the rocket goes it starts toppling over itself but its momentum keeps it going up as gravity and and very small amount of leftover air resistance chips away at its leftover speed until it hits its 'apogee' at that point it stops having any speed going up and it starts to fall down!

I'm still waiting to see scientific theory prove that you can pour water on a ball, spin it, and the water stay in place. It's flat. Nope. We have proven o ver and over again for the past 2500 years that Earth is a sphere. Everything, from simple measurements of Earth’s surface, to observation of a ship going over the horizon, to observation of Earth from space proves Earth is spherical, not flat. You are quoting poetry and claiming it’s a physics textbook.
@Hobbes7464 күн бұрын
The scientific theory that explains why Earth is a sphere, and why we stay attached to the outside of that sphere is called gravity. We have known for centuries that all objects that have mass also have gravity. This force pulled Earth into a sphere: this is the lowest energy state. Earth’s rotation produces an outward force that is only 1/300 as strong as gravity, even at the equator. This is measurable: objects weigh 0.3% less at the equator than the same object does at the poles.
@randyschissler57913 күн бұрын
That experiment is impossible, because the earth's gravity will pull the water off the ball and to the ground. Also, why would you spin it, when the earth makes one measly rotation in a 24 hour period? I wouldn't call that spinning, that's as slow as can be. You have no idea what firmament means. It means the universe, the heavens, the sky, but never a flat earth with a dome. That verse perfectly reflects Wernher von Braun. A man of God, who spent his life's passion and work, building spacecraft and rockets to explore the universe.

The rocket then came back down under a parachute, and was recovered intact, with no damage. If it had run into anything, there’d be damage.
