The temple was in the city of David, because 2Chron. 3:1 says the temple was built in Jerusalem, where king David prepared the threshing floor and the Bible says in 2Kings 9:28, Jerusalem and the City of David are one in the same. We now know through archeology that the City of David was south of the what's now called the Temple Mount, beside the Gihon Springs. There is just no getting around it unless you don't believe the bible. The now Temple Mount could not have been up where the dome of the rock is, because the Gihon Springs is the only source of water, and archeologist have found the Gihon springs, it is in the Kidron Valley beside the city of David. There is no way the high priests would wash themselves in the Gihon springs and then walk a half mile to two thirds of a mile, up Mt. Moriah to the temple. Their robes would be filthy and sweaty, so therefore they could not enter the holy of holies. The temple had to be close to the Gihon Springs. Joel 3:18b “and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD.” A Roman legion was 6,000 soldiers and about 4 thousand support personnel. If you were a Roman general in charge of overlooking Jerusalem, I think you would want to be on high ground. Flavius Josephus the most famous JEWISH HISTORIAN said that the fortress of Antonia that housed the Roman legion was composed of several cities. Mt. Moriah is 38 acres, and it is well known by historians that all Roman fortresses were 36 to 40 acres in size. Mt. Moriah would be the perfect spot. Acts 21:30-32 “The whole city was aroused, and the people came running from all directions. Seizing Paul, they dragged him from the temple, and immediately the gates were shut. 31 While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar. 32 He at once took some officers and soldiers and ran down to the crowd. When the rioters saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.” Notice how the soldiers ran down; down from where? They ran down from the southern steps of fortress Antonia to the Temple in the city of David. Eusebius a Greek historian of Christianity in 314 AD wrote “The hill called Zion and Jerusalem, the building there, that is to say, the temple, the Holy of Holies… have been utterly removed or shaken, in fulfillment of the Word.” Of course the Word is from Matthew 24:2 “There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. If you ask an orthodox Jewish person how they know 100% that the temple was where the dome of the rock is, their answer is they don't know for sure, they go mostly by their Rabbi, tradition from their fathers before them. Micah 3:12 "Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field." Zion stayed as a plowed field up to the early 1900's, fulfilling the prophecy. (There are pictures to prove it) The bible says the centurion watching over Jesus at His crucifixion saw the earthquake, the temple veil split in two, the rocks split and saw the graves opened, Matthew 27:50-54. Common sense would tell us that for the centurion to see all this and ESPECIALLY the veil split in two, he would have had to be directly east of the temple on the mount of olives. This is just another bible verse proving the temple had to be in the city of David, because if the temple was up on the so-called temple mount, there is no way the centurion would have seen the veil of the temple split. This proves that the crucifixion site was east of the temple on the Mount of Olives, that is now called the Silwan villages, and the temple had to be in the city of David. More Bible verses to prove the Temple was in the city of David, and or Jerusalem. Psalm 65:1a, 4b - 1a Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: (4b) we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. Psalm 132:8, 13, 14 - Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength. (13) For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. (14) This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. Joel 3:17a - So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain. Psalm 46:4 “There is a river whose streams (Gihon) make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.” Matthew 24:2 “And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” 1Chron. 6:10/32. Ezra 5:14-15, 6:5, Psalm 68:29, Daniel 5:2-3, Matt. 4:5, Acts 21:30-32. Believe me, I know it's hard to stop teaching on something and saying you were wrong. It will take a generation at least to get the Jewish people to realise. It would be helpful if the Temple Institute would come to realise themselves that the Temple was in the city of David. Ezekiel 47:1 - Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. Ezekiel 47:2 - Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. Josephus Flavius a Jewish Historian (Eye Witness) - It (Jerusalem) is now demolished to the very foundations, and hath nothing but that monument of it preserved, I mean the camp of those (Romans) that hath destroyed it, which still dwells upon its ruins. Hecataeus of Miletus, a Greek Historian around 500 BC - The temple was very near the center of the city of David. Psalm - 132:13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. Psalm 20:2 - Send thee help from the sanctuary, (Temple) and strengthen thee out of Zion. Psalm 9:11 - Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings. Psalm 65:1,4b - Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. Aristeas a Greek Monarch around 200 BC - There is an inexhaustible reservoir of water gushing up naturally from within the temple. Joel 3:18b - and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD and shall water the valley of Shittim. Tacitus a Roman Historian around 50-120 AD - The temple had a natural spring of water that welled from its interior. God Bless,
