Simply brilliant design. Loving your videos. Do please tell how did you attach the metal strapping to the roof of the van? My roof is upholstered--as yours seems to be.

Great video. I think of all the videos I've watched I like this the best because it has the soft edge of the bias binding They can also fold down very small compared to others I saw which had gaffer tape on them around the edge and Velcro (which I'm thinking the glue wouldn't hold up when the car got hot in the summer. ) I think I'm going to try your way Nice to see another camper with sewing skills. It's fun to be able to make our own touches to the vans.

I like the concept but am sewing machine challenged. Was thinking about using a shoestring and then stapling it at the outer edges instead of sewing. Do you think that will hold? Thanks for sharing.

Cool vid im in the process of makokg these for my ute canopy for the opposite reason tho aussie summers are super hot and ive got a fridge and battery setup in there id like to keep cooler and stop would be thieves from seeing any of it thru the window im using insulation rolls off temu it cost me $32 for x3 huge 1mtr by 3mtr rolls its waaay more then i need so I'll make some for the car windows and windscreen aswell which was shipped from germany so not even cheap chinese crap and im using some rubber backed insulation matting in between i already have to further the insulation purposes ive watched many videos on these and thats defo the best option the stuff ur using isnt really effective or cost effective. Im using glass suction cups to affix to the windows so theyre removeable but the canopy ones will always be on the only other thing I need to buy is aluminium tape for the edges which is $12 a roll and I won't need all of that and some glue to stick the insulation sheets together with the rubber backing so all up around $50AUD to do my entire car

Great video! Especially the cooking examples🤤! I use a 5 lb propane tank and it has never cost me more than $7.00 (CAD) to fill. But I recently became aware of the refillable 1lbs and hope to find a way to purchase the fuel keg system. It doesn't appear to be available yet in Canada 😔

I use clear plastic sheeting and tape over the window on the outside as if the glass is broken. You can see through it so it's extremely easy to the widow and trace the exact shape with a black sharpie. Cut it out and transfer it on the the reflection and it's a perfect fit every time. Second step is to use some spray adhesive (loctite) is what I use and black wool fabric to make the cold weather side. When they're installed you can't even tell they're in the windows from outside it just looks like black mirror glass. When you cut the excess of the fabric off leave about 1/4" all the way around to give yourself tuck in room for complete black out

Thanks, I have always used gasoline stoves but the fuel is getting harder to get. So I am trying out a butane stove and a single burner propane stove on my up coming camping trip. A single tnk of butane and propane will I think be more than enough.

Thanks for posting the video. But can you or someone else help me understand something? So the reflective emergency blankets are made to keep you warm, correct? But then on the van they're used to reflect the sun away from the van to keep it cool. And then the other black side would be to attract heat and of course be used for privacy. So my question is why aren't emergency blankets black? Why are they silver if on the van they're reflecting the sun back. I hope this makes sense
