Actually, this shows the problem with education in a different way than the math-teacher intended: It shows math-teachers desire to humiliate and show off rather than spending their time teaching effectively!😢 (No wonder so many people learned to hate math!) Idea for a better youtube-math-lesson: 1. Start with the puzzle above 2. Go through all the erronious conclusions 3. Show the correct conclusion 4. Show WHERE the erronious conclusions "lost their way" 5. Finally: make RULES for each mental decision that would lead the student to make the right choice where "the roads diverged" 6. Make MORE youtube-math lessons with the same type of errors until we all AUTOMATICALLY see the right way and choose it EVERY time!

So, since 2 + 5 is not in a parenthesis it is added AFTER you multiply 5 with the result of the parenthesis (3), right? So steps: 1. (inside the parenthesis):: eight minus five is three. 2. (multiplication): five times three is fifteen. (note: there is a mulitplication needed when there is "nothing" between separated numbers, right?) (note 2: since there is no parenthesis around the first two numbers, you only mulitply THE CLOSEST NUMBER with the parenthesis, right?) 3. (Addition): two plus fifteen is seventeen. The answer is SEVENTEEN (?)
