So, since 2 + 5 is not in a parenthesis it is added AFTER you multiply 5 with the result of the parenthesis (3), right? So steps: 1. (inside the parenthesis):: eight minus five is three. 2. (multiplication): five times three is fifteen. (note: there is a mulitplication needed when there is "nothing" between separated numbers, right?) (note 2: since there is no parenthesis around the first two numbers, you only mulitply THE CLOSEST NUMBER with the parenthesis, right?) 3. (Addition): two plus fifteen is seventeen. The answer is SEVENTEEN (?)

The reason it is not 21, is that there is no parenthesis around 2+5, so you DO NOT add together whats outside of the parenthesis until all the other calculations has been done. THEN the answer becomes 17 not 21 .. I think ..

I got 10 because you do 2 add 5 which is 7 and then add that to 8 you will get 15 then subtract it from 5 you will get 10

You can’t add 3 2 and 5 because you need to get rid of the parenthesis; by which you go by PEMDAS; where you’d do distributive property :)

If it was only +/- than it would just go left to right, but () and multiplying is involved, so it doesn’t get left to right it goes by PEMDAS. The P is for () or parentheses, E is for exponents or a little number above a letter / number or 2^4, M is for multiply or x or * or •, D is for Divide or ➗, A for add or +, S for subtract or -
