Thanks. When you do pretender design please do consider Dragon of the East and Celestial Dragon even though not classic SC pathing. Both get bonus path/gem/Underwater item and their alternative forms stack with other units for buffing - for example a Shuten and a cat. The East/nature has a misleading alternate form that has extra hp/attack and whereas the celestial/air one opens up ideal path for archery nation. Both dragons synergise with the main mage - East for unaging and far caster, celestial for precision/SR/far caster. Both prefer heat to cold for cold blood summons either poison or flying/air. Can still get P2 and M1 on scales without tanking others. Air one can just ignore Tengu and go with things that have their own protection.

It would be kind of cool if the bandits got to fallow their flavour text where they take the armor of defeated foes. So you fight Ulm for example and a percent take helmets and heavy armour from the fallen.

theres nothing i love more in an RTS than an army thats 80% feckless goblins and 20% hyper-elite soldiers its equal parts hilarious and engaging strategically

Regarding the 5 gem item that makes raiding parties shine. I found the new glamour item, mirror of trapped images, works well. Loads of warrior illusions for 5 gems. Issue being you need the research to summon glamour mages to make them, and then construct them.

After recording, I did have the thought that you could take an inspirational leadership bless and use Bakemono Shamans to lead your stealthy raiders; definitely more expensive to use a 115 gold mage instead of a 60 gold commander, but +3 morale would greatly change how effective Bakemono-Sho raiding parties perform.

It's alive! Great work guys Stonetroll kicked my but in False Pretenders with 150ish archers and Flaming Arrows showing up unexpectedly on Yomi. Shinu has an even easier time putting that together without the income malus I've killed mages who didn't have bodyguards with Noppera-bo before. I don't think it's something you want to go overboard with, but having 2-3 maybe kill an important commander in an enemy army can be a good surprise and can force a response of moving troops off the front line into bodyguard mode. I like the Tengu for surprise shock troops due to their map move, and they can be really useful for storming forts in a way Draconians might not be able to since enemies might be putting up Storm to block arrows from your archers. They'll probably die because you won't get Caelum numbers of them, but that can definitely be a price worth paying.

um your mages threw out multiple PoF and shadow blasts during the centaur fight, deleting a minimum of 10 tiles full of centaur not exactly a solid demonstration

You shouldn't look at heroism only as one extra star, but also gaining each of them earlier than without heroism x 3. Meaning the cav get better faster.
