i just need to make a helmet solid with no opening at the bottom
@HoneyPoint3D7 ай бұрын
Or it might be easier if you just delete the "bridge" at the bottom of the (assumedly) hollow model where the helmet turns from outside to inside. Once that area is deleted, you have separated the inner and outer shells so they are no longer connected. Then select a small area on the inside shell, and hit "e" to expand the selection then "delete" to remove it. Then just use the select tool to double click on the blue edge that is remaining and hit "f" to fill it.

Really cool but I must have done something wrong because when I turned over the part, it was totally sunken in....Yikes! How do I keep the front of the part from being affected?
@HoneyPoint3D7 ай бұрын
Sure! Usually, if other walls are being affected, you need to turn off the "Volumetric" checkbox in the sculpting tool you are using.

@@HoneyPoint3D I'm having the same issue, even after shutting off volumetric on the magnetic brush
@HoneyPoint3D2 ай бұрын
@@TheTrueMac I would also try a couple of things. One is to use a smaller diameter brush. Since this attract to target tool is not in the surface tool (only in the volume tool) you have to be careful that the brush does not "turn the corner" and affect areas that you are wanting to be affected. Disabling volumetric will stop disconnected areas that are touched by the brush from being changed, but if the entire surface of the virtual brush is touching an area the entire area will be changed. The other way to ensure that areas are not touched is to select them and assign a facegroup to them. Then in the attract workflow described above, under the "filters" menu in the sculpting tool, select "restrict to group"....even going one step further and enabling "fixed boundary" can be done . Then other groups you have will be kept pretty much intact.

Well this is extremely late but yes you can use PEEK, PMMA and titanium for medical use. I use mostly PMMA for printing because it is a LOT cheaper for patients in our countries also can easely print PMMA on a 200$ printer.....I am Neurosurgeon btw.

Thank you very much for your tutorial. I have a question. How can I convert this model to a solid ?
@HoneyPoint3D2 жыл бұрын
When you exit the Form environment, Fusion will either let you exit (successful solid model creation) or it will throw an error, where you have to not exit the Form environment, fix the error, then try and exit once again.

Hello. First i want to congratulations for share your knowledge. I'm a beginner using meshmixer and your videos help me a lot. I have a dude and i don't find the solution. If you know it, I would be very grateful for you answer. If i use select in a object and i draw a circle ( the circle is orange but inside and outside are grey). Are there any option to order that all surface is inside {gray} include in the selection? . Thank for your very much for your helo
@HoneyPoint3D2 жыл бұрын
Sure....if you select something and hit "e" that will expand the selection to everything that is connected to that selection. If you hit the "i" key, that will invert the selection....meaning that everything that was selected will not be, and everything that was not selected will be. If you are talking about selecting everything inside of the circle you just drew on the model there is no way to directly do that. The only way I would do that (without selecting the inner part of the circle by hand) would be to draw the circle, "create facegroup", then double click on the inner part of the circle, and create a facegroup there, then doubleclick on both facegroups and create facegroup again, making one large facegroup.

@@HoneyPoint3D thank you very much for your answer. I'm sure it will work well your proposal. I hadn't thought about working with face groups. I have already came back from my little holidays and I have already tried the solution that you proposed to work with facegrups. Congratulations. It has worked perfectly for me. Tell you that at the begining the object was a surface that I transformed into a solid. Working with facegroups works perfectly for me when the object is still a surface. When it is a solid, no. But nothing happens. I am happy with the solution you proposed. Thank you very much from the heart. Thank you

When you insert it into Fusion360 you can scale it to be whatever size you desire. If you need to fit a specific size, you can always sketch out a box with the correct size, and then when you import the SVG you can scale the imported SVG to that box you have already created.

@HoneyPoint3D6 жыл бұрын
not easily, no.....the larger quads would need to gradually decrease in size in all directions, I have not seen SW automatically do that. You can always edit the mesh and collapse some areas in Blender, but that is very manual.

Fusion 360 (currently) is free for personal use, and free for commercial use if your company makes under $100K per year. If your company makes over that amount then it is something like $25/month.

any way to send a 3D print further than wifi can reach? My workshop is to far to connect to wifi but I often would have use to send 3D prints from the shop back to my house where I keep my printers.
@HoneyPoint3D6 жыл бұрын
Probably a few ways: see if 2.4GHz wireless would reach your workshop (since it has a farther reach), run an ethernet cable, use a powerline networking setup that turns your electrical wires into data carrying lines, or if your printer has an SD port you can just walk the files over to the printer. If you're really wanting to solve that problem, and money is not an issue, you can set up a cell phone hotspot and put your printers on the internet that way, and then contact them through the Internet.
