Excellent video, thank you! I bought one second-hand, and it needed cleaning. This gave me confidence to disassemble and reassemble it. Mine is the white Corian version. It has a small amount of grease in it, and it's beautifully smooth, with very low resistance.

Do you know how to get more screws for the arms. The constant re torquing, I am nervous I am going to strip the hex head screws. I would love to have more on hand but can’t find out the size from geeone or Mackie. I used your code for 10% off, thanks. I am also worried about rounding out the square end if the post eventually. Something related to a fidget being more pleasant than what was expected, I got my hands on the 01EDC Soap Slider, a couple days ago, and it has changed my mind on 01's mehanical sliders, the first one I got my hands on, was a Zirc shelled 3 level slider, with a Teflon liner, just felt too short, too thick and too narrow, like it was barely wider than my thumb. The Soap Slider on the other hand, has been very pleasant, in SS, got a nice heft to it, and with a lanyard very easy to mess with. easy recommendation for me, if you ever get a chance to have a go at it (Assuming you haven't already)

I'm new to this community, don't yet own any high end fidgets but I find this stuff to be really cool. 1 suggestion for you when doing a size comparison is to put something familiar next to it, like a quarter. While technically using the measuring tool lets us know the scale, seeing it next to a familiar object (your hand and other fidgets I'm unfamiliar with don't count) helps with size comprehension for the viewer.

This is a neat idea, but also the worst attempt at a company just seeing what people are willing to pay for. There is hardly anything special in terms of manufacturing or materials and they still want to charge that much? If I didn't know better I'd swear this was a joke.
@Audiodump

Ok. A lot of fidgets are kind of hard to justify price wise. Hundreds of dollars for a little piece of metal that goes click or spins. But at least you can say "Well, its made in small batches and its got a lot of very precise machining, etc" This is a set of rosary beads. You could make something functionally identical to this with 10 bucks and a trip to a craft store. Maybe Amazon, depending on what you want the beads made out of. And I can't see what they're charging since the store is closed for the holidays right now, but I see them on eBay for 100 bucks or more. I'm sure these are fun to play with...but come on! It's just a string of beads!
@thefidgetfix
@thefidgetfix 26 күн бұрын
@@Audiodump well it isn’t “just” a string of beads. The quality is obviously much higher than that. Rosary beads are usually plastic. I like the weight of steel. I have no issue with what I paid. Quality lasts so I don’t mind.
@aroundsquare
@aroundsquare 26 күн бұрын
I’m happy to reply to this. The big difference is that the beads we use are custom made for us to our specifications. So we are paying for precision machining on a custom design, so that’s the cost factor. This is what enables us to have good fit and finish, proper level of friction on the parts, rounding on the bores and so on, and the cord is custom woven Kevlar. Although the beads are simple round beads, it is the custom specs that differentiate us. I encourage people to go to bead world or hit Amazon for bulk beads to try out something and see if they like it. A set can be made for like $20.
