It looks like a great property and house. I am looking forward to seeing the projects that you have planned for the new property.

Good day to you I find the design quite interesting one of the best examples I've seen by any chance do you have any architectural sketches or designs that were made during the process of building it

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole and that meant comfort." A Description of a Hobbit-hole

Beautiful country. I'd love to see Vermont sometime.

Very informative thanks. We live in the woods, but from the scene in your video (at 6:40) where you are standing in front of the house, it looks like it is actually quite open - it looks like about half the sky is unobstructed by anything. I really wonder how it would do in a fully wooded area like where we live, with 80 to 100’ trees on all sides.
@mountaintopmakers20 күн бұрын
Happy to hear this was informative! Yes, at this house we have a decent amount of open sky which helps tremendously- our last house we were using starlink at was much more wooded like you're describing- we made a video on that experience, I'll link it below if you want to check it out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWW0coOrhdd_o8Usi=aVQjglePxdxQARX9

Ive seen quite a few Hobbit houses. This one misses the mark. The rectangle door in the round door was an immediate red flag. The concrete walk way, the lack of light. But hey, even a bad hobbit house is better than any modern construction.

Disappointing I was expecting a more complete tour of an Earthship and instead, we get a low quality 10 minute promotional video for an Air BnB

Do they get mosquitos or bugs in the atrium ?
@mountaintopmakers3 ай бұрын
From what i could find, Since its an enclosed system there is no mosquito problem! the pond has fish which would eat any larvae if any managed to get in and the location is in a high plane desert which doesn't have many to begin with! Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Where is the ventilation in the roof? The bathroom should have a tub. Hobbits take baths. not showers.
@mountaintopmakers3 ай бұрын
Totally agree on the tub thing, Yes! the ventilation was in the roof near the back of the structure. As far as I can tell; The owners and builders created this as an Air B&B so I believe some of the design choices were based on that! Its a neat thing to visit for sure! Thanks for watching!

That door was a rectangle 😂learn your shapes
@jonathonfrazier66224 ай бұрын
The outside is almost perfect. My biggest issue is the door is not perfectly round, this is a big deal for me. The inside is very nice and they used a lot of the right materials. But the interior is still too much like a normal rectangular house. Need more circular geometry to give it a tunnel like feel. I'll rate it 7.5 out of 10.

Totally agree, I believe the builders and owners of this structure had to work within the building codes of the area since it is used as an air b&b so I believe they had to make some compromises. Thanks for watching!!

It is a beautiful house, of course. With that said, if their aim is to create a hobbit house, it has too many anachronistic elements. You have modern designs mixed with occasional rustic pieces.

My dream house is a large, human-sized Hobbit house with an enormous library.
@howtogetoutofbabylon89783 ай бұрын
You got it considering that I have about 40,000 books so have to be a pretty big house with a big library Floor to ceiling rolling ladder library!!!😊
@jimgilbert99843 ай бұрын
@@howtogetoutofbabylon8978 I used to have more than 40,000 books. I had so many that I had to rent a 10'x10' storage unit. I filled it up with books (including a 1905 1st grade Reading text book) and rare items, from front to back, side to side, and floor to ceiling. Unfortunately, someone broke into the unit and completely cleaned it out (leaving only a chess pawn behind). 😦😧😨😰😥😢😭😖😣😞😓😩😫

A lovely hobbit hole and an informative presentation! I’d like to offer some production suggestions to improve your channel. Lighting: presenters face could be lit a bit better in shots. Camera: the rule of thirds would be more aesthetically pleasing for the viewer so we could see more of what you were presenting to us. Audio: probably the biggest one for viewers. The ventilation system/fridge/Aircon was creating all sorts of noise (which I’m sure you/ your editor knows about) A work around for this would be to do the viewing shots and then do a voice over later for quality audio. (See the ‘never too small’ channel for examples) All the best with your channel! I hope that’s helpful 😊 I will come back and check out some more later!
