Yeah, after talking to a lot lot of people while I was working, those kakadu showers in the premium campsite area they said that this year it was worse than the previous years with the way they handled the event. Not enough bathrooms to accommodate all the people in the premium area. The general camping area seem to have enough bathrooms. The way they had you check in was kind of like it was just put together. I know I had to figure it out since it was my first time up there to see where I had to go. Expo West they sent me an email with detailed instructions on how to enter, the camping areas but PNW just kind of left it up in the air. The camping spots they were trying to put everybody in real tight and supposedly the premium areas people were complaining that they didn’t give them the 20 foot space for their area and in the end there were so much vacant space to be used that people ended up moving their vehicles over so that they can accommodate their camping area. But being there for the first time, I absolutely love the drive and also meeting you and all the other Overland community. I just love how everybody is so friendly. We did have somebody that stole our two showers that is absolutely unheard of in this community, but I’m sure it was somebody that just came for the day and left. Being that we’re so close can’t wait to get out and explore with you more. I also agree that being up north of Susanville area needs to be explored more. especially with all the lava flows and caves and waterfalls in that area. On our way up, we stopped by Bernie Falls area and was blown away by not only the waterfall but how beautiful being in the forest area was.
@flyfisher530Күн бұрын
@@OverlandingOurWay Sorry to hear about the showers being stolen and it seems PNW still needs to do better at its organization for the event 🤦♂️. I’m glad you mentioned Burney Falls because that is a hidden gem that does not get talked about a lot. So beautiful! Thanks for leaving a comment and watching the video! 🙏

Question. When you camp are you worried about bears with the cooler in the car?
@flyfisher5307 күн бұрын
@@stereode1uxe No it’s never been an issue. I used to put garbage bags up in the trees, but even now I don’t really do that much anymore unless I think I’m in a heavy bear presence area. I take my key fob with the alarm button up in the tent with me and I’m pretty sure I can scare them off if I hear them rummaging around outside with the vehicle alarm system. Thanks for watching! 🙏

That lake in Oregon is ok. If you want to see better scenery and a nicer lake go farther north up into BC at Kelowna. Lake Okanagan is 85 miles long 3 miles wide and over 100 wineries in the valley.

Rock Slide Engineering is the strap and base mount on the wheel. The bracket specific to the 5 lb propane tank is by PowerTank. Thanks for watching!
@davidk66688 күн бұрын
@@flyfisher530did you have to do any drilling to align the bracket with the propane tank holder?
@flyfisher5308 күн бұрын
@@davidk6668 Yes as I recall I had to drill two holes to match up with the Rock Slide bracket. I used four bolts to attach to the Rock Slide bracket, and I think I only needed to drill two holes (two already matched).
