There’s no way that Brazilian Superman 17 cover would get 10k legitimately!!! A 3.0 US version goes for 4-5k this has totally been shill bid. Outlier at Heritages way of doing things

@@kryptoniterocks8245 🤔 not sure, I know Heritage has been known for shady things in the past but the seller is well known in the community so if he doesn’t get paid we will hear about it.. some of these Brazilian golden age books are incredibly rare so that may account for the premium over the US copy

I totally agree with you that in general it was a bad auction. But i think that last year the March auction was the worst. So let's see the others. Do you know why the community of foreign collectors doesn't seem to support this auction? I was just wondering.

I would say half the people that got in to foreign comics in the last 2 years were just speculators.. they saw easy money and then bailed when the market shifted down.. I think there is support for the auctions but not many people have the money needed to buy the books right now..

Great recap! So what is the larger feelings about the Ott collection? It’s funny, I see him post crazy books but not many likes or comments on social. He’s cornered the market it seems. I like that he’s showing those Brazilians just aren’t as rare as was thought.

No doubt Sky has one of the largest and best collection of both American and foreign comics in the world, multiples of some of the hardest books to get.. I wouldn’t say the Brazilian books aren’t rare but that’s what he is selling the most of so it is kind of flooding the market.. he has a bit of a reputation in the foreign niche for having an ego so that’s probably why you don’t see much action on his posts.. but doesn’t change the fact he has the books we all want

I have the impression that this time the books were more than any previous time and that even though that some dropped compared with the August auction the were a lot higher compared with the march and June auctions. So I'm just starting to get into foreign books. Why is that Hombre Arana #28 soooo expensive? 35k is nothing to sneeze at. Even if it's just a super rare book, that doesn't fully explain why it went for such a high number.

It’s the most sought after foreign out there.. lots of competition for them.. one sold at heritage for 15k raw that was maybe a 2.5 so that kind of set the market and then the big sale for 35k happened a few weeks later. Since that sale another 8.0 sold at comic connect for 25k.. the prices are all over the place but basically it’s just because so many people want one and they don’t come up for sale very often

These were some high prices on the Greek books but it is very important to understand that all of them are almost impossible to find even for us that we live in Greece. You may look for years for a book and you just have to be in the right time in the right place to find it. For instance i do not own any of these books and i only have seen them once or twice in the past 10 years and i was too late all the times. I suppose this explains the high prices.

I'm the French guy who provide cheap shipping fees and prices more generally, even if I started to increase them 😄The delivery cost can be explained as we have a dedicated postal service for books in France with cultural radiance purposes.

1st appearance of Spider-Man in Brazil final price was joke! Batman (Joker cover) for $977.50 was a steal! I sold my USA version for over $3Gs last year. Terrible final price. I would be jumping out of the window if my X-Men #1 sold for $4300 +...signed by Stan Lee?! These prices are insanely cheap. Poor Skye Ott.

You didn’t over pay if your happy! Honestly some of these German keys have had almost no increase in value in the US market for years so they are good buys.. prices on the German market have been steadily increasing which should squeeze the US market eventually

Amazing Greek collection!!! Most of them are impossible to find. I do not agree though with the terms 1st and 2nd print especially for the amazing fantasy #15. Issue 386 is the first time that the story of AF15 is printed in Greece. Issue 167 has only the cover. So in my opinion issue 386 is by far more important and is the true AF15 Greek edition.

I agree that Heritage's auction format is hard to get through as you have to sit through this long session before your book you want to bid on comes up, but great to see so many foreigns nonetheless. And that Brazilian Journey into Mystery 1st Loki was a mistake high prebid because it was me and wasn't able to change it before auction but someone still ran it up high. The sale was canceled and you'll probably see it pop up again somewhere.

This auction was interesting. I definitely think time could not have been worse, had this auction taken place 6 months ago I think we would have seen much higher sales. Also you hit the nail on the head when talking about the lack of buyer education leading into this sale.

Hi Steve Thanks for al the great info and shows that you put up on KZbin 😊 I have been noticing that the Swedish keys generally fetch a higher price than the same Danish counterparts even though they are produced the same year, place etc. Do you have any idea how that is? In my opinion it should be the other way around as the market/population in Denmark is almost half of the Swedish market and the comics should then be harder to come around and be more scarce in supply. Do you have any insight that you can offer?

Just from my experience but I have found it easier to find Danish key comics compared to Swedish.. i have no clue on the print runs but it’s has just proved easier to source the Danish comics.. possibly more sellers in Denmark so they have been able to bring more comics to the foreign market 🤷♂️ thanks for watching!

There were several Greek Kabanas Spiderman that were sold really cheap during this period. The prices that were sold are the prices that the books are sold in antique shops in Greece that usually are a lot cheaper than eBay.

Man, we had some crazy sales for books on German ebay last week...that stuff starts to become expensive and really rare here..might be something for your market report..Hulk 1 for 540 Euros...ASM 1 for 405 Euros..FF1 close to 300 Euros...and all of those had rusty staples...crazy..people went hard on those auctions..keep up the good work...love your market reports

@@interglobalcomics1834 high grades are really super hard to find..took me 2-3 years to find a decent FF1..Problems are those damn activity pages ( f.e: the FF1 backcover is a actifity page..and it almost always has writing on it ), and cut out marvel stamps.( kids actually cut them out a lot, because you could send them to the publisher for free goodies ).i will send you some Screenshots of the sales as DM on insta.
