Hey man. I have the GX CS4-I compressor. Last night, I accidently bumped the grease pot about an 1/8th of a turn. I'm only about 100-200 hrs in. Do you think that little bit of a turn injected any grease? I'm so mad at myself for this.
@Themightymooseoutdoor87
@Themightymooseoutdoor87 27 күн бұрын
Honestly 1/8th of a turn with 100 hours I'm sure you're fine. I've turned mine more than I should before, and it runs fine still! Cranking it a turn or two would probably be mad, but I wouldn't sweat it

@Themightymooseoutdoor87 Before I did it, I noticed that when filling my Avenger to 300bar, the pumping sound got a little louder like it was working harder. It didn't do that at first. After the accidental bump on the grease pot that went away. It sounds normal again. I made sure to do a few dead head tests right after I bumped it just to circulate any new grease that may have been introduced. All seems well now. Ironically, I had the same random power failure as you on one of my first fills after receiving the compressor. I tried twiddling wires like you, but it didn't help. I put the shielding back on and was ready to send an email to GX, and it just came on all of a sudden. I did have to email them anyway, though, because one of the needles in my guage wasn't straight. It was bent/pushed to the left. I fixed it by just pushing it down and against the zero stop pin. It lined right back up. So I told them about that and the odd power failure, and allegedly, they're sending me a new guage and power supply. 👍 They also told me to unplug the "sensor." They're said their engineers found it to be unnecessary and potentially problematic when active. That's what they chalked up the power failure to. I'm not gonna bother, but I figured I'd share that with you. I talked to them extensively. The language barrier was tough at times, but the dude was super cool. I'm hesitant to try and fill a 6.8L tank.
@Themightymooseoutdoor87
@Themightymooseoutdoor87 27 күн бұрын
@BostonWhoFan515 good to know! That's the first I've heard of other people hitting that power issue. You may have just been low on grease anyway? Tough to tell, I wish it had an indicator. Ya my experiences with their customer service has been the same - they are eager to help, but language can be tricky, that's why I try to help out when I can haha.

@BostonWhoFan515 which sensor were they referring to?
@BostonWhoFan515
@BostonWhoFan515 27 күн бұрын
@Themightymooseoutdoor87 the heat sensor. He said to unplug it because their "engineers" found it to be troublesome and the likely culprit of the power failure. He also said that they feel the unit is so competent that reaching such temps would be so unusual that the sensor is unnecessary. I guess unplugging it and avoiding power issues outweighs the unit overheating 🤷🏻‍♂️. Like I said, I didn't do it, and everything's fine. He even sent me a video on how to get to it and remove it.

I have quite a few videos on compressors actually. If you give me a budget you are trying to stay in I can give you a recommendation. Ok, dude, I watched all of your videos on this new model. I already have a couple of the smaller lunch box size compressors, but I want something with more manual operations (ie.water cooled, grease pot) so I can actually assist in it running better for longer, instead of just depending on a fan to keep my smaller ones running. I'm only filling airguns, not separate tanks. So, based on things you've said in your videos, I have a few questions on this particular unit... 1) You mentioned in a previous video that you recommend an inline filter. I believe you even left a link to one of the long filters with the inner element that can be filled with various things like molecular seive, silica, and charcoal... but you're not using one here with your own PCP... Did you mean that you recommend it for separate tanks and not when going straight into an airgun? 2) If that's the case, that line doesn't appear to have any filters at all. Not even the short bulky ones that are found on most fill whips that come with these overseas compressors. I'm guessing there may be a built-in filter somewhere behind the bleed valve area 🤷🏻‍♂️. If there is, how do we change it when needed? 3) Do you recommend paying for the extra 3 or 4 year insurance that Amazon offers? Did you include that with your purchase? I feel it's a good idea, just in case things go wrong after the regular warranty time frame has expired, which is probably a year. 4) Although it's fairly new to you, what do you honestly expect its lifetime to be if you had to guess? I'm literally ready to pull the trigger (no pun) on it ASAP, because there's a discount for "Prime Day" that's running right now, offering 20% off, and it's due to end soon. So, hopefully, I hear from you quickly, lol. I'll gladly use your affiliate link. I'm always down to support people who offer help like you. Your reviews are stellar. Clear and percise. Anyway, I appreciate your time. Cheers!
@Themightymooseoutdoor87
@Themightymooseoutdoor87 Ай бұрын
I'm so sorry I didn't get to this in time for sales, hopefully you still got one! I do recommend one from the compressor to anything, tank or gun - I believe these have a very small filter inside the machine, but I'll verify that. I don't use one for 2 reasons 1. I'm in a very dry climate, so moisture has never been a problem across the various pcps I've owned and 2. I'm lazy and want to get someone to send me one to test 🤣 I think it can be a good deal, although I've never used one. As long as it's honored it could be worthwhile. A long those notes I would guess 5-10 years with minor repairs/maintenance (grease, maybe cleaning fans, replacement cracked or broken hoses) And then maybe replacing major parts after those. My 4 year old (I think) GX pump still works great.

Id like to see how long it takes to fill a tank. Great video btw.

Less than a minute to fill the tank on the generator if it's full - but once it starts to get lower the pressure is significantly slower. (Also depends on how high it is) Thank you!

@@Themightymooseoutdoor87 I must be dumber than I thought. I have no clue what you're saying. What generator? Why would you fill a tank that's full already? Please explain.

@MrPeterschmit oh oops 😅 I thought your comment was on my electrical generator video, and you were asking about how long to fill the gas tank with the gas pump I was using haha. I don't have a tank (yet, but hoping to get one soon) but it's a lot faster then my previous pumps. It'll fill my Benjamin marauder from 1500psi to full in just a couple minutes. I think my recent gauntlet video showed it filling the gauntlet from empty as well.

If does! A few grammar mistakes and such, but understandable. I'm happy to answer questions as well. Maybe I'll do a tutorial video if that would be helpful. If you end up buying one, please use my affiliate link - it helps me out a lot 🙂

@@Themightymooseoutdoor87 yes I think I might buy one and I will use your link. I would like to see a tutorial video. The auto shut-off looks sketchy to me and I could see where getting that wrong could cause serious problems.

@MrPeterschmit I'll do a tutorial video this week then! Ya the auto shut off sketched me out too for awhile haha. It has a backup shut off, so it's a redundant system, but I totally get where you are coming from. I think it's still a good idea to keep an eye on it.

These are not 1x. I bought one of these two years ago and the glass is closer to 1.25x, making it useless for shooting both eyes open, which is the entire purpose of a red dot. Get a 515gm or just get an eotech or aimpoint. Holosun is more concerned with new sales gimmicks rather than perfecting a product.

I haven't had issues shooting it with both eyes open, but I also shoot both eyes open with all my optics (including scopes). I'll check out the 515gm though!

Ya been shooting with mine more and it's a 1X for sure, comparing against an lpvo without true 1X. Even without a magnifier to go with it it's a great optic.
