Ok, dude, I watched all of your videos on this new model. I already have a couple of the smaller lunch box size compressors, but I want something with more manual operations (ie.water cooled, grease pot) so I can actually assist in it running better for longer, instead of just depending on a fan to keep my smaller ones running. I'm only filling airguns, not separate tanks. So, based on things you've said in your videos, I have a few questions on this particular unit... 1) You mentioned in a previous video that you recommend an inline filter. I believe you even left a link to one of the long filters with the inner element that can be filled with various things like molecular seive, silica, and charcoal... but you're not using one here with your own PCP... Did you mean that you recommend it for separate tanks and not when going straight into an airgun? 2) If that's the case, that line doesn't appear to have any filters at all. Not even the short bulky ones that are found on most fill whips that come with these overseas compressors. I'm guessing there may be a built-in filter somewhere behind the bleed valve area 🤷🏻♂️. If there is, how do we change it when needed? 3) Do you recommend paying for the extra 3 or 4 year insurance that Amazon offers? Did you include that with your purchase? I feel it's a good idea, just in case things go wrong after the regular warranty time frame has expired, which is probably a year. 4) Although it's fairly new to you, what do you honestly expect its lifetime to be if you had to guess? I'm literally ready to pull the trigger (no pun) on it ASAP, because there's a discount for "Prime Day" that's running right now, offering 20% off, and it's due to end soon. So, hopefully, I hear from you quickly, lol. I'll gladly use your affiliate link. I'm always down to support people who offer help like you. Your reviews are stellar. Clear and percise. Anyway, I appreciate your time. Cheers!

I'm so sorry I didn't get to this in time for sales, hopefully you still got one! I do recommend one from the compressor to anything, tank or gun - I believe these have a very small filter inside the machine, but I'll verify that. I don't use one for 2 reasons 1. I'm in a very dry climate, so moisture has never been a problem across the various pcps I've owned and 2. I'm lazy and want to get someone to send me one to test 🤣 I think it can be a good deal, although I've never used one. As long as it's honored it could be worthwhile. A long those notes I would guess 5-10 years with minor repairs/maintenance (grease, maybe cleaning fans, replacement cracked or broken hoses) And then maybe replacing major parts after those. My 4 year old (I think) GX pump still works great.

@Themightymooseoutdoor8718 күн бұрын
@pete7894 I didn't have any other failures - I believe I was talking about getting parts to show how to do a rebuild. (Any piston will need to be rebuilt after enough use). Some users have been hitting so many hours of use they are starting to see slow downs due to wear and tear. For what it's worth, I've owned probably 10+ different compressors. This is my favorite one by far.

Hey man. I just got to about 5-6 hrs of use on this. I turned the grease pot one full turn but I didn't feel any resistance like people are saying they feel. Also, the sticker on the unit says turn it 2 turns after 6 hrs. What gives here? Am I all set to continue using it after one turn and feeling no resistance? Thanks in advance. Cheers.
@Themightymooseoutdoor87Ай бұрын
I'd follow your sticker - it's possible yours has some new updates or something. I'd give it one more turn and see how it runs - if it's running slow or loud I'd give it a little more.
@BostonWhoFan515Ай бұрын
@Themightymooseoutdoor87 I've talked to GX and many CS4 owners in a FB group. GX said to ignore the sticker and only do one turn. They'll be changing that sticker very soon. The way to make it work is to take the entire grease pot out. There's usually a huge air gap between the grease and the bottom of the grease hole. You have to physically turn it until the grease rises over the edge, then push it in and flatten it to the edge with a butter knife or something. Then back the turn knob out until the grease line is about 1-2mm in from the edge. Reinstall the pot, make a turn, and at the end of said turn you'll feel resistance. That is from the flow restrictor basically letting you know you've introduced enough grease into the cylinder. Then you're good for the next 6 hrs or whatever it is. If you don't do that and you just turn it like I did originally feeling no resistance, you won't be giving the cylinder any grease. I can literally hear an audible difference now. I can't imagine how many people are just doing it the way I was. It's only natural to do it like that, but it's not going to do anything. 🤷🏻♂️

Hey, hopefully I'm not too late to the conversation. Looking to get one of these. But I can't seem to find any reviews filling a 48ci paintball tank. Amazon says it should take around 5 minutes to fill from 1000-3000psi but I wanted to confirm that with someone who's actually done it. Can anyone confirm the fill timing?
@Themightymooseoutdoor8717 күн бұрын
I would guess it will take a little bit longer than that. I don't have that exact tank size to check though. My guess would be between 5-10 minutes

@@Themightymooseoutdoor87 Is there much of a filling speed difference between the CS3, CS4, and the CS4-I? Site says they're all 11LPM, so I'm wondering why one is better than the other. Is it just longer operating time and cooling power? Thank you so much!
@Themightymooseoutdoor8717 күн бұрын
@n-a3585 speed is about the same - the CS4 has a much better cooling system, so it will run longer and fill bigger tanks. I personally think it would also last longer because of that. The CS4-I just had an integrated inverter, so you don't have to lug it around with that as well. I think the CS3 would work for you if you are going for a budget option, as long as you don't use it for extended periods of time. There is a CS3-I as well with the inverter - I think it's a good middle ground for your use case. Here is a link to it amzn.to/409yfL4 Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help!
