Excellent session! Great few scenes progressing the story and introducing a danger. The buzzing heard inside the crystalline monolith could have been the dreaded iron wind of the numenera setting! Im reading about it, it's nightmare material! Or the assassin who got the professor got to the monolith before vector x and deployed his killing machines. Anyway you look at it, we're in grave danger! Great solo session. I cannot wait for the next episode.

Oh yes, I think ChatGPT or other AI can certainly be an asset to the solo TTRPGer. It has been a little while since I messed around with it, it was generally producing rather generic prompts, but as the technology develops it could certainly help fill in a lot of color for the world you're creating.

How come you don’t use TwoHourWargames or rebelminis rules? Your approach to solo TTRPG is the WORST experience new players. Don’t you want an immersive somatic storyline for your character? You’re promoting this artificial, let someone else do all the thinking, zany style.

@@AxidentalDM never be afraid to think outside of the box. If the object of solo role-playing is to have a story, organically emerge, then I would try a new way of thinking about it . Nice quick overview. I have several of these systems and have run them all at least once (thanks to the pandemic). In my opinion, Ironsworn is the most fully realized system of the ones you covered. It has everything you need in one book, and also the Dungeon Delve expansion is great. If anyone reading this is into Mork Borg, there’s an excellent solo expansion called Solitary Defilement that combines existing MB rules with an elegant, Ironsworn-like mechanic. It’s my current favorite.

@@AxidentalDM Yeah, there are a couple of other good oracles for Mork Borg solo play out there. The player facing nature of Mork Borg makes it an easy game to adopt. Solitary Defilement takes the best mechanics from Ironsworn and combines them with the Difficulty Rating of MB to create a really great system. PS- I'm not shilling for SD, just a fan. 😃

I've recently found the FASA website and some downloads like character sheets. But it is still confusing. More like stats for ships and weapons. Not how to actually play the game. Is it some where on the website or do we have to find a used book somewhere?
@AxidentalDM
@AxidentalDM Жыл бұрын
FASA no longer has the license to the Star Trek RPG so I'm not sure that's an official site you're using. There are separate play sheets for starship combat, and level of detail depends on how you want to play. If you're looking for something crunchy, then the full FASA Starship Tactical Combat Simulator is the way to go. A more streamlined approach is provided in the Star Trek RPG itself.

Is there some memo that goes around to DMs that they have to use "kind of" as a crutch word? "So we see then kind of in chapter one we have the basics and so some of the things we kind of expect kind of the welcome to the forge so I'm assuming that's just kind of talking a little bit about the kind of setting etc..." You kind of shove "kind of" into your kind of sentences so so so much that it's kind of impossible to kind of understand what you're kind of actually kind of saying, I had to kind of stop the video after kind of 3 minutes. I'm sure what you're trying to say is great but as somebody who struggled with crutch words himself, do your viewers and players a favor and try to forget the phrase "kind of"
