Thank you that's helpful because I was searching how to do this 🥹 i just wish you actually changed the depower line to show us because that's what I'm having trouble with the most for duotone trust bar 2022. Is there any video you can recommend that actually shows that last section of video step by step for the clear, depower lines, the knots and so on ?

Thanks so much for video and 321 kiteboarding for providing the basic intro course to kiteboarding. I’m getting ready to go out for my first intro class! After years of windsurfing this sport definitely looks a little tougher to “learn” on your own. Grateful you guys are here…. And also thanks for showing Anton G.; I am young at heart also but it’s been years since I windsurfed. My mast broke. It was nice seeing someone like myself that tried it and enjoyed it so much he never went back to windsurfing!! Windsurfing was a great workout… but would have never compared it to yoga! Lol But after watching Anton…. Maybe at our age it’s more like Tai Chi ….. but faster and more air!! Thanks guys

Hi! Thanks for the tips, I am still a beginner, and I am looking for my first quiver. My weight is 80 kg. I don't have a local spot and I need to travel to kite. So a lot of different situations. What do you think of a 7,10 kite quiver? I would be pleased if you have the time to answer. I am thinking of getting a Naish Pivot.

I happened into this video because I watched the Cocoa Beach closed video. This one is much better. I hope I don't have to replace lines soon, but if I visit Cocoa Beach, I know where friendly help is!
@trenthink4 жыл бұрын
I think it is great that the rules are being enforced in a logical way in cocoa beach. Locally here, on the west coast of Florida, St. Pete seems to have adopted a similar approach. In Sarasota county, where I live, this is not the case. Lifeguards are patrolling the beaches and harrass everyone, and kick them out. It is a bit silly. The very few parks that have remained open are packed with people who want to get outside to access fresh air and exercise. Yet I am not allowed to access a park with a boat ramp, because I do not own a boat with a trailer. Do some people have special property rights? Now, I understand why the rules were enacted, and I respect the intent of the rules.... But silly rules are not worth consideration. With hotels, resorts, and air BnBs closed, the beaches are empty. Boat ramps remain open, to the chosen few, yet I am not allowed access to an empty beach, alone, to have access to exercise and fresh-air and saltwater and kiting? I have resorted to trespassing. Here, in Sarasota, to remain healthy you must become an outlaw.

I learned in Texas and had to move to Jax, FL for 3 years due to girlfriend's job. Before the move, an ex-Floridian was giving me the heads up and mentioned 'downwinders'. He had to explain to me what they were. I don't know if Cocoa Beach has the best Downwinder, but what I do know is... it is much better to live somewhere where you don't have to even know what a downwinder is ...

i saw that there's still a company named north with the same logo and all. so, what are they?
@321kiteboarding5 жыл бұрын
Johnny, great question, as there will bound to be some confusion. I will make it kind of simple. (Old) North is now Duotone. Same people, same kites, same awesome riders, owners, CEO, etc. The "New" North is made up of a few folks from Cabrinha (basically all of the people who designed and distributed kites). So the "New" North is Old Cabrinha (they probably will disagree, but its an easy way to think about it.) They purchased MYSTIC as well for their distribution power and name recognition. The "new" North is a completely new company, kites, people, riders but they do have access to the "old" logo because their Daddy, North Technology Group, (think sailing) was licensing the logo to Boards & More; the "old" North and now new DUOTONE. So, still the best selling brand in the world DUOTONE was the old north. The unknown "new" North has the old logo, but that is where any reputation or branding ends. We look forward to seeing how they do, we had a chance to ride and touch all of their gear last week and will be putting out some reviews and first impressions. Thanks for such an awesome question Romann

Jane Smitherson thanks for the comment. We sure haven’t seen that. we have been on the same 3 batteries for over 1 year and they still provide 5-6 miles at full speed for 180lb rider and a solid 10. miles on mode 2. we really love the fact that we can swap them out and bring multiple batteries with us for as much range as we need. at $99 for a battery, this board has been our go to electric along with the OneWheel for our Off Road needs. Let us know if you have had an issue with your battery, I bet we could get that resolved for you if there is a malfunction.

Nice tips but a bit advanced for a total beginner. I'm interested in this sport and I'm thinking about buying a kite but I am not sure where to start, would you have some advice for a beginner starting from scratch, knowing that there is no kiteboarding instructor nearby where I'm located.
@321kiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
Hello, we understand exactly how you feel. Most of us were in your shoes. There is a ton of information and it can get pretty confusing. Luckily there are lots of resources out there, but we are firm believers that if you can find a shop, or person (like us) that you can put some trust in, it will make your journey a lot easier and less costly. We obviously recommend lessons, but we also know that is not always possible. The best place to start is with a good quality kitesurfing trainer kite. 2 meters or 3 meters is all you need. Don't invest in a water relaunchable trainer (you won't use it as much as you think). Then when you are ready to buy a kite, we can help you based off of your riding locations, weight and local wind speeds. Can you tell us a little about where you would be riding, how much you weigh and what you think the wind speeds are? We can give you some good ideas as to what you can expect to ride as far as kites, boards, and general equipment. You can always call the shop or email us as well. We can't wait to hear from you, Romann +1 321.302.5663 [email protected]

can i ride a four line bar on a rebel 2016
@321kiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
Hello Ethan, thanks for the great question! Unfortunately, you can only fly the 4 line bar (any bar) on Rebel Kites from 2018 and up. So 2009-2017 Rebel kites were all 5 line and need a 5 line North Bar. The North 5 line system is not a "traditional" 5 line system in that it has loaded center lines. These act like a very large bridle and offer a ton of stability and direct feel. They have been able to achieve the same feel and more from the new 2018 and 2019 Rebel using 4 lines. ALL North and Duotone kites can be flown off a 5 line North bar though, so if you have an older 5 line Trust system, you wouldnt need to buy another bar I hope this answers your question
@bboyzoen6 жыл бұрын
Hi friends!! Please help me?? North Rebel 2018 works with the North Trust Bar Quad Control 2017????? Thankz and best regards!
@321kiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
It sure does. The 2018 North Rebel will work in both 4 and 5 line configuration. Simply take your Quad bar and attach it to the appropriate lines on the kite. If you have a 5 line bar, you can use the supplied nose line on the leading edge of the kite to fly in 5th line mode. Did this answer your question?
@bboyzoen6 жыл бұрын
321 Kiteboarding & Watersports: Yes, thankz so much... I have only doubt if the "Y" where the central lines of my trust bar quad control are separated, is at the same distance as the trust bar quad control 2018. I want to make a set with the kites: 2017 NORTH DICE 9M and 2018 NORTH REBEL 12M, both with the trust bar quad control ... Thank you very much for your help. Best regards.

Excellent explanation and breakdown. Have you had a chance to ride the new Jaime ? Last year's version seemed a bit skatey to me, which is good for some but I like more grip. Does it feel more grippy or about the same?
@321kiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
Hello Lindsey, we sure did. I have always liked the Jaime, but found it a bit jittery in chop. It was skatey and good in flat water but lacked the grip in chop. This year they have "space flex' more flex in the tips and a very nice bottom "hull" shape. This has really improved riding comfort in both the Textreme (carbon) and non-carbon versions. The bottom shape also "holds" a ton better in all conditions. We were impressed. The new Select and Jaime are my new Top Recommend boards of 2019

What an awful name. Du o to ne. You cant just come up with a cool name? Why not ????? Legal stuff. What a load of crap. In this day and age with our education system and college opportunities you are honestly saying that we cant think of a cool name??
@321kiteboarding6 жыл бұрын
Haha, I can't speak for German education, but I am guessing it's pretty top notch. DUOTONE was simply the best fit for what they needed to accomplish in the very short time that they had. The basics were that North Technology Group (owners of the name North Kiteboarding) made a purchase offer that was not adequate and when the offer was declined, the licensing agreement was not continued. This is a big comany (Boards & More) and to come up with a new kiteboarding company takes time and considerable investment in research and money. They already owned the company brand name DUOTONE and could mobilize fast. Cool- Many brands have fought hard to become "cool". I think it is more in what they do and how they invoke a feeling from the consumer that makes them cool. Time will tell. For now, we have said DUO TONE so many times we are used to it. That and the kites look badass. Thanks for participating in the discussion, keep it up! -Romann
