Oh my goodness, my story is so similar. As a kid of about 8 I was at a bible school event and my girlfriend kinda pushed me out into the aisle for the alter call. I was too embarassed to sit back down so I went on down the aisle and had that talk with a woman about getting saved. I didn't really know what I was doing. Later as a teen, I did feel the spirit of God moving me to be saved and I did ask Him to come into my heart quietly in my pew. I got baptized but I was so uncertain I did it wrong. After I got married, I told my husband of my uncertainty and he knelt with me and helped me rededicate my life to the Lord. It was so simple, but it kind of solidified it for me. I've never looked back! Praise God for his gift of salvation! Many blessings to you & your family

Hi Michelle I had similar experiences growing up in church and at a very young age asking Jesus into my heart and I always wanted to live for Him as a young person and rededicated my life to Him as a young adult but things happened in my life later in my 30s that steered me away and I fell into the worldly lifestyle because I was mad at people who had let me down I turned into a bitter person Its been some years now but God has been dealing with me and helping me overcome a lot of things I wasn’t proud of and I ask forgiveness and for Him to change me And now I solely strive to live for Him and take up my cross daily I still fail at times but I always repent and ask Him to give me the knowledge and strength to overcome the devils blows I definitely would appreciate your prayers for me and my daily walk, it’s been about 6 yrs now that I have committed my way to Him and I’m 49 yrs old now, I also deal with some chronic health issues that has tested me but I continue to pray and trust that He will get me through🙏🏻thanks so much for sharing with us ! Thank you for sharing your testimony. One verse that I look to for confidence is: I John 5:13 where the apostle John says, :I write these things to you who BELIEVE in the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that you have eternal life. We can KNOW we are saved and have eternal life .....when we truly BELIEVE in Jesus and who He is and what He did on the cross. This is a great comfort because it is by grace we are saved thru that faith! God does not lie .....this is in His Holy Word of Truth! I'm happy you have arrived at a place of peace about your salvation ....He came to bring us that 'peace on earth'. ❤

Oh my goodness! We have the same testimony! I’ve lost count of how many times I got “wet” because I kept thinking “did I do it right”. Long story short I was saved in 2007 at the age of 48 and have been at peace ever since. It’s not about me “doing it right”, it’s the Lord Jesus Christ that does it. God is good!!! BTW, my husband was saved in 2014!!!

I, believe, many people go through the period of doubt. And it is "you know who" putting that doubt upon you. We must stand strong in our Faith. We must wear the Full Body of Armor. Precious testimony Michele...I believe we all doubt at some point in our lives. The very fact that you worried about it and experienced fear was a sign that you were truly saved...the enemy wldnt make you have doubt and fear if you weren't. I went through the same thing when I was in my early 20's.....I love you friend! My Sunday school teacher was the one who lead me to Jesus and now I have the Jot Joy down in my ❤. Speaking of Billy Graham I sang in his choir at jis crusade in. 0HULADELPHIA. That was such a wonderful experienpe My Sunday school teacher bought me a Bible and signed it and I still us thT Bible. Thank you for sharing your testimony. I too was raised in a religious home and had similar doubts but rededicated my life to Jesus as a teenager. I married and raised a family and took my daughter to church. After the church I grew up closed, I attended a church closer to where I lived and after several years, that church merged with another congregation too. I was happy there for a few years until there was rumblings of theological differences. I stopped attending church about 2010 or 2011. I still read my bible and prayed but felt something missing, I needed a church home. After several years of taking care of ailing in-laws and my husband having multiple surgeries on his foot an ankle that ended his career with a major airline, we sold our house in the small town where we lived for almost 35 years and built a new house in another county. Shortly afterwards, I retired and needed more to do. I did some volunteer work and joined several organizations. All the while I was continuing to pray, read my Bible and started online bible study too. I had visited a lot of churches but none of them seemed quite right. I was about to give up. Finally, I prayed (what I should have done all along) for God to direct me to the church where he wanted to be. While setting up for a fund raising event for one of those organizations in a church gym, it was if a little voice said, “ all the times you been in this church, you’ve never once attended a service here. Why?” The following Sunday morning, I attended my first service there and felt at home. God has blessed me and has allowed me to help bless others.

Thank you for sharing your testimony. Aren't you thankful for your dear parents and that your dad gently led you to a better understanding of salvation? I was led to Christ my neighbor kids and that was a seed that was planted and finally led to salvation when I was 17, Easter of 1979. God is good and you, your family and channel are a blessing to me!

The preacher was preaching in the book of Acts 2:19. I received the holyghost. I was baptized the next night he was preaching about Acts 2:38!! I've never turned back. I love God's word!!! My sweet sister in Christ, thank you for sharing your testimony. I too have had that black cloud of doubt hanging over my head. I never thought of it as calling God a liar. I have asked Jesus into my heart so many times & still had that doubt. Then one day in tearful prayer, I could feel God say to me, “Why wouldn’t He want you, Carol?” I am worthy & I am so thankful for the saving grace of our precious savior Jesus. Michele your testimony is beautiful and heartwarming. I know it will help someone become closer to God. Sometimes we tend to complicate things when it’s so simple. It comes down to simply accepting God’s love by faith and confessing our sins. I was a young child also when I first became saved and was baptized. Then when our kids were young John and I both rededicated our lives to God and were baptized. John grew up a Methodist but I was Baptist so us and our son and daughter always were members of a Southern Baptist Church.
