Sad to see so many Strava lines cutting straight through what used to be really fun linked corners on John The Baptist

@olivercameron1986 It's a bummer. And once they're there, your eyes are just drawn to the most obvious line and you can't help but follow them unless you're familiar with the original trail.

So what have you done to your wrist/hand/both? Assuming you have bothered to get it checked out now🤔 Looks amazing by the way, looks like you both had a great time😄

@cmouse_2 Good question! I did it get x-rayed when we got home and they couldn't see any fractures. It still hurts now though and I can't put much weight on it. So I don't know really. Hopefully it'll sort itself out with time. It was a great trip and I wish we'd stayed longer. There's so much there, so we only rode most trails once or twice.

Managed to catch it in the dry a couple of weeks ago. The top and middle is amazing! The bottom is above my current pay grade 😂

Same. Looking forward to going back and building some speed, try to clear the jumps. The bottom is seriously committing. One day!

It's a ridiculous bit of track. Hope you got off lightly!

Also, thank you! It really helped following Becci and breaking it down section by section. Would have been much harder on my own. I'm pretty happy with the tech sections now so next visit I'll try building speed and getting over some of those big jumps.

How was the coaching? Thinking about it
@treebeardmtb3 ай бұрын
@mtb-mania Sorry, only just seen this. Coaching was great. Made a few technique adjustments that really helped. Even though I like to think I know what I'm doing from KZbin videos, there's no substitute for someone with experience watching you ride and assessing you. It was a big confidence boost. I didn't record it, but there was a lot of scoping out and discussing each section down Race Track. Plus you get to skip to the front of the uplift queue. Recommended.

Well done, man!! I'm just starting considering this line, I'm hoping at least to make it safe with the first ramp-gap :)))
@treebeardmtb Жыл бұрын
Good luck! It's not the easiest line but it's well built and fun to ride. The wooden ramps have quite a tight radius, so watch out for that - I find my upper body collapses into the bike if I'm not prepared for it.

Building up the confidence to hit this for the first time this weekend - any tips?
@treebeardmtb2 жыл бұрын
Roll up to the start nice and slow, same sort of speed as the side by side tables/gaps to the left. Watch out for picking up speed - I generally had to brake a little before the third jump, but if your technique is better than mine you might be able to turn that speed into height. That's about it really. It's intimidating for sure but it's a pretty safe line - quite long mellow landings with big case pads.
