2 mins in and you assume its religious? or.. and that sparks discussion about "All People" can feel this way, but again, where did you get "religion" at this point? I'll try listening a bit more but, if you're the religious therapist.. I take a HARD PASS... but. we'll see... back to it. WOW.. so... we say we're ok because of fear, embarrassment, or shame.. or.. you're a stranger so I'm not gonna tell you what shit I'm going through... and that seems to be the limit of reasons for saying so??? (first time here and most likely my last but, what the hay, 7 more mins? maybe I can do it.. but I'll have to see if the rest is as stupid as this first part has been)... back to it.. OH.. there it is.. you're a church boy, who follows organized religion... ok... I'll try to hear it from your warped perspective... back to it. SORRY.. thought this was a "therapist" reaction.. I see you're a pastor/therapist... the most dangerous of those who think they know us. I'd say I'm gone.. but.. I have to admit, I AM curious to see just how hard you twist this to suit your needs.. back to it. Ok.. a live version I haven't heard, but with just a few words different... THEN.. I actually looked at the picture.. That isn't jelly.. that's some whitewashed, I mean, godwashed version of him that erased his Tatts, and make him look like.. well, NOT HIM.. 6:30 in, and I am GONE, never to soil your channel again. POOF!

Everyone misses what I think he is truly implying without outright saying it in this song, and that is that we all need to choose our salvation in God/Jesus and it is a battle and that is the punishment from Eden,, in the song when he beats the evil he says I was made by his hands(God) it's all part of his plan that I stand on my own two feet(implying free will) then he further validates this in the closing saying it's the sway between dark n light good and evil that seperates us from angels demons and gods.. I feel like he used gods to broaden the viewers of the song but it's the free will choice to choose God that makes us who we are angels n demons don't have that freewill they are bound ... Just my two cents and the perspective I took upon first listen I believe that it can be used to help people understand the journey we need to take to accept the grace of Jesus and to let go of fear n put it in his hands

Hello, first I gotta say I love watching videos of people explaining NF's songs. Secondly, there is a huge difference of being depressed and having depression. I was diagnosed with MDD 18 years ago. Medication helped, but not enough. I heard about Spravato and was lucky enough to do the treatments. I honestly have ro say that those treatments saved my life. So if anyone actually reads this please look into getting the treatments for yourself. I completed my treatments just over a year ago and now I don't have to take any medication for my MDD. God bless you all, and thanks again for doing these videos. I really enjoy hearing what others think about his music.

This is where religion fails. Here you are trying to gain more subscribers with REN’s music, and yet you deter people from exploring his journey. You two are blind because you choose to be. Ren’s journey got me through some of the darkest moments in my life. He has in a very positive way moved peoples hearts all around the world. What has your religion done aside from sending millions to the slaughter in the name of “god“ and taking money from those who blindly follow. And what have you your selves done in comparison to what REN has done for so many around the world? What a sad pair.

I interpret it as nate letting go of his negative mindset and negative self-talk, which he rationalized as him being real/honest with himself. To me, it means he wants to break free from this sulking in sadness and rather make a change and take that first step. No other artist has resonated with me like NF. Im glad NF finally found hope and let go of his demons. Hopefully, i find it too and let go of mine. Also enjoyed your reaction/breakdown 👍

0:23 Hold up, you're going to use this person's talent and music to get views as you coattail and react to it.... and NOT recommend people check out his other music? Bruh, I don't even need to watch the rest of the video. Thumbs down, how disrespectful. I'm all about people forming and voicing their own opinions but this is completely different on principle. Checking from the other comments, apparently I'm not missing much.

You've already censored him in the first 20 secs of your video. you've already disrespected his message to protect a narrative...make the content not suitable for kids and let their adults decide instead of the religion deciding for them...simples

I’m not surprised that a pastor might not favour the language or the style of this song, but I am a bit disappointed in your final takeaway after breaking it down. To simply say that it’s “sad” is a huge oversimplification and demonstrates a lack of understanding of the real message. Even as a religious person, I’m sure you can agree that the internal battle between good and evil is something that will exist within all of us until the day we die. Rens message was one of hope, persistence, perseverance - not resignation. He’s highlighting that in order for us to move forward, we need to recognise the darkest parts of ourselves and accept that they will always be there, but if we continue to deny them, they will only pull us further down. That’s what he means when he’s talking about that eternal dance and learning to relax - to face ourselves authentically and stop pretending that we can achieve absolute good in any facet of our lives. There will always be room for darkness, but that doesn’t mean we give up. I’m agnostic, but even I can see the incredible value in that message to be utilised as a pastor. You would be encouraging people to be more honest about who they are and seek forgiveness for those parts of themselves. What’s “sad” is that you weren’t able to see that..

If once saved always saved was true paedophiles rapist and murderers would continue to do what they do and automatically go to heaven the bible says work on your own salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for his good pleasure Philippians 2:12. If once saved always saved was true what would be the point in working on your own salvation. Once saved always saved gives false assurance

I’m not sure if you guys are aware his first album is “moments” and he talks about God much more in that album. I think it’s worth listening to and doing react videos on. I see that album as where he realizes his purpose for his life, and also after that album is where he was going through his trials as we all do as Christians, and he just took us along for the whole journey.

I love how towards the end of the song, Nate is saying how he went through 30 years of all these emotions, and his past, darker self is telling him to stop. then Nate finally takes control when he says he's taking the reigns, and you can hear how scared his old self was to be forgotten. By far one of the greatest songs of this generation, and if not, ever.

The Bible says not to take God's name in vain, it does not say to not use strong language. Yes, there are a few verses saying not to let "unwholesome talk" come out of your mouth, but in context it is saying not to say anything harmful, hurtful, or unconstructive. I just have a difficult time with pastors and church's say these are bad words...I've spent the past 30 years in law enforcement...and I'm sorry, put the gun down down in the name of Jesus - Doesn't Work... what does work... pointing mine an yelling "Put the "F#$%ing, gun on the ground or I'm gonna shoot you!" I can't afford to have discussions as to what words I choose to use in those moments - I need to use very STRONG words to convey the lethality or seriousness of the situation. I quit going to church maybe 10 years ago (I just attend online services exclusively now) - cuz sometimes I can't filter the language and get harshly judged (or even asked to leave) for it. People who have never had a gun pointed at them, had someone actively trying to harm/kill them, or pointed their gun at someone else, can't possibly have any idea. At the end of the day, It's just words and if that is the unforgivable sin - I'm sorry... its the price I (and many others) pay to keep you safe. Sorry for the mini-rant. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk Edit: And in case it wasn't clear, I am curious as to your thoughts on the subject. ~st
