Thank you! I have a Mackie CFX 20 mixer and was trying to hook it up to my M-Audio M-Track 8 so I could do some quick processing before recording. This is the first video I found that embodies an idea similar to what I had in my head and is a huge help!

My amp doesn’t have a master volume or gain knob so I have to use an overdrive pedal to get distortion at low volumes. If I had an amp with a gain channel I wouldn’t have any darn pedals
@DanBakerMusic3 күн бұрын
I made a pot for the preamp out/power amp in stage of my fender deluxe. You can also buy them. Basically it means you can wind the clean channel right up without the environmental health authority getting involved 😂 There used to be one that had two jacks spaced apart the exact distance, but I can’t seem to find one. This one here is one that can sit on top of your amp and plugged in with two short leads between the pre and power sections.. www.five-cats-pedals.co.uk/product/volenuator-tweed-finish-passive-volume-attenuator/

Is there a 5 mm type like the 5,5 or less
@DanBakerMusic3 күн бұрын
There’s a professional one called the Bantam Jack, which is smaller (but far tougher) than the standard 1/4” one, and these are used in pro studios in patch bay applications…

I think you should check out the Audio Pilz Bad Gear channel for an honest review of Roland gear over the years lol Have to say I am fond of Roland myself. Nice topic to cover today.

BR 1600 CD used to have beautiful preamps , quite, the effects processing was nice to, like you said if you used it you was stuck with it but a lot of times you would build around it and it made for better creativity

Bless you for doing this for us new folks! I am getting into making dub versions of my bands reggae and rocksteady tunes. I have wanted to do this for so long and I’m finally just biting the bullet and getting the equipment. But I am a lost child in the woods as far as tech knowledge goes. So this is incredibly helpful.

are you exporting from logic? Garageband doesn't have this feature
@DanBakerMusic14 күн бұрын
Yes it’s Logic I’m exporting from, but just to illustrate that GarageBand can open those…

Have the MK iv . Might be that it sounds better than my B77mk II , though for that to check I'll have to put both in the same room with equal tape & amp.

Recommendation for a better violin sound on the akg is to also set it in 8 or omni and just stand a little further away

Live Loops are under-rated! It looks like you have a similar process as mine: create a basic idea in Live Loops but then flesh out the arrangement with additional sounds in tracks view 😎

Brilliant. So that's it! OK - I've been watching videos on music theory and guitar for years on KZbin by very accomplished people, and this is the first time that I understood problem notes and exactly which notes clashed. I never knew that a note in the chord could actually clash with the chord (!?) This was amazing, and I feel like an entire new chapter of understanding has opened for me musically. Thanks, Dan!

Hi. When I try and record on cubase o my ST and do select all and quantise it's more out of step than it was when I recorded it. Am I missing a setting on cubase to make it record in realtime?

Very powerful features but not all rosy. I’ve seen a guitarist in a live band kick off a piece with the tuning set wrong. Instead of owning up he doubled down to complete the piece in the wrong key and messed up the song/gig as everyone else had no idea why the song fell apart. We were asked to cut the set short after that. Oh and he tried to make out that everyone else was out off tune - w£&ker!
