Uncanny. You 100% described my journey, starting out with guitar and no theory except for chord names. I later transposed all that I knew from guitar onto piano - just as you demonstrated in your video - and that’s when the theory bedded in, made sense and became interesting. In my home recordings, they are mainly guitar based but applying the piano interpretation helps massively in so many ways. For instance - if I’m working on vocal harmonies, it is the piano I use for reference. For all you guitarists - please follow Dans valuable advice. You won’t regret it. In fact Dan, I think you could do a follow up lesson on this, even a course, showing how this can develop and assist song writing for guitarists. As always, great video lesson. Thanks.

The sum it up, if someone wants to truly understand music and theory they should have a basic understanding and some level of proficiency on the piano.
