As good as this recording is. It sounds like it was made with the recording levels peaking slightly higher than they should. Sounds a bit over saturated.

Sua gravação está com qualidade impecável!! A fita deve ter sido armazenada em condições perfeitas, pois não sofreu danos na banda magnética!
@gilbertocalonso3 ай бұрын
@paulanderson77963 ай бұрын
@@gilbertocalonso I agree completely. I have recordings from the early eighties that still sound perfect. The cobalt doped ferrics are some of the most durable formulations. True CrO2 tapes are not so robust.

I am from germany and it's awesome, to here Tommy Vance like in the 80th's 😍 from 1981/1982 till (i think) the end of the 80th's i've heard every Saturday the "BFBS Top 40 on British forces broadcasting radio" and i loved it. I am not sure but it can be, that after 1986 the show was presented from Simon Guettier . Is there any possibility, to order more BFBS Top 40 shows with Tommy Vance from you ?

Radio 1 didn't have its own broadcast like now days. This show would go out on BBC VHF or on your local BBC radio station.
@Seven-ny6rq6 ай бұрын
At the time Radio 1 shared its FM 88-91MHz band with Radio 2. Radio 1 was broadcast every Sunday evening on this FM frequency range, starting with the Top 40 show till late in the evening. Some local BBC stations also rebroadcast the Top 40 on a Sunday. I was tuned into the Radio 1/2 88.5MHz frequency from Pontop Pike when recording this chart.

I was 14 in August 84. Don't miss my paper round either, especially Sunday's with all those Sunday supplements that took ages to shove through the letterbox. No French trip for me, but I do remember a trip to the Science Museum that year.

I set out to record this directly onto my own hifi tape deck ( I love old tape recordings which remind me of my youth ) but by lord , there were some awful songs in the charts then also ...I'm about 15 mins in and thank God , a song I recognise comes on at last ...( Yazoo ) . Too often we have a blinkered view of the past ...there was some utter rubbish music too then ( the Queen song that preceded Yazoo was just about the worst garbage song I have ever heard ...no kidding lol )
