This sermon is a perfect example of an analogy I've come up with recently for christianity. It's like a present with the most wonderful gift you'll ever recieve, but it is covered in the ugliest wrapping paper. And when the thing you wrap it up in is so forced and unpleasant, there's gonna be a disconnection with the true nature of the gift inside. Jesus is so present in Christianity and I would love to see it succeed. His point that Jesus made about us loving our neighbor as ourselves brought tears to my eyes. And then, many christian speakers slap on this intellectually inconsistent, forced, but mostly unanswered status about Jesus atoning for sins. They will not get into it, because doing so means admitting Jesus saved us from his father, and the father's need for perfection out of the imperfection he allowed to occur. Unless you want to believe the earth is 6,000 years old and Adam did it which is like a whole another universe at this point you've fabricated for yourself. The atonement makes a mockery of God, who is unconditionally loving and united. The darkness which interplays with the light in us over our spiritual careers is egoic ignorance. Jesus saved us from that abyss of non-awareness. The point and his point is to awaken to your unity with God, to be an instrument of God in the world which happens to naturally align with the desires of our soul. His individual faith is the model we should follow. The fact we are inherently aligned with God in our spirit IS the faith of Jesus and the good news of the Gospel - the kingdom. Seeking to align with God is the faith that will save you. Forget your worldly idols and give their authority to God directly! The fatherhood of God to all is the foundation for the human family. This is why I see Christianity often as a beautiful gift in ugly wrapping paper.

I can sense that words just aren't enough to describe God's glory. It's hard to convey what you have passionately found in God's Word sometimes, but your excitement comes through. We will know it more fully when we get to Heaven where He is! :)

Lee you need to debate someone. Debate Richard Carrier. The bible is not evidence. First you have to PROVE that the bible is actually historical. Historians have already shown that the bible is not actually considered historical. All you did was name a bunch of RELIGIOUS sources, whose sources mind you, were all from the same thing. Its easy to fool people by only going back to where is convenient. However, there isnt any non religious corroborations of the religion whatsoever. Stop lying to people.

Not being negative…but really want to know. I say this verse over and over and over but I have never experienced the truth of it in reality. I love the Lord with all my heart and have been a born again Christian for many years. I believe all scripture is God’s Word and is 100% true, yet I do not experience this “strength” Paul speaks of. At 73 years old, recovering from cancer and many other ailments, I cannot find the strength to even do my daily chores much less get out and serve the Lord. What am I doing wrong? I need this strength Paul speaks of.
