Down here in VA we’ve had abnormally frozen ground from the recent winter front that came through. I found a long drill bit and have been drilling pilot holes for my chained super stakes. It’s worked good for down here but I’m sure up north the part of the ground that’s frozen is probably thicker than what it has been down here. Love watching your videos brother

Them old indian tricks don't work no more Todd, I went back to all rebar a few years ago rarely ever use chain or cable anymore. Some much easier to move rebar

Do they go in frozen ground alright?
@toddstrohecker10 күн бұрын
Better than a cable stake in my opinion
@RickBrocious10 күн бұрын
I use them all season. Even with a puller the cable stakes , for me anyway, are a pain to remove.

I’d say Minnesota brand for your foot hold and the Belisle for you new conibears I’ll pay more money for the company that actually went through the work and designed the trap

Great video I draw a lot of inspiration from the trapping methods of the USA on our French foxes but what is a shame is that no lure seller wants to send gland-based lures to us in France. I would be really curious to try them and see if they work on our foxes. here in France we do not find recipes for gland-based lures. However, I removed certain glands which I froze while waiting to find recipes

Thank you Todd for taking the time to show this. I really appreciate all your videos and cant wait to try this set. I have a question to ask. Could I use this set in say a wooded area with a log along a path instead grass clumps?

Where do you typically have your pan in relation to the end of the roof log? I tried this style and missed a cat a few nights ago. Stepped all around the front of the cubby but not in protected area under the roof log. Based on what I saw I should’ve had my pan 3-4” out from the face of the top log. Connected on what I assume was the same cat 100 yards down the road last night at a natural rock outcropping/cubby set. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and theories. It has helped me out a lot this season!

I have the trap under the roof but this is for fisher. The roof is too low in my opinion for bobcat.

My GH2 and hell fire lost a lot of potency in a years time. Fire of the woods and gusto seem a little better. I'm willing to give yours a try. I'm tired of buying stuff every year. There's no money in trapping and all it does is cost money. But when you love it you do it anyways

I like them but I like the 450 half offsets better. The 550s do bed very nicely.

Was just wondering.... I’ve watched all your videos on the wolf creek traps and I use them myself. Are you using many of them? If so what do you think? Keep hammering them.
@toddstroheckerАй бұрын
I like them. They need tuning and some smoothing but I like them for the simplicity. The 1.75 fills a niche for a side swiveled square jaw for mink etc. I use some of the #2s on the canine line.

Really enjoy your videos Todd. Just wondering if there's a time throughout the season when you feel you should no longer trap fox due to their pelts deteriorating in quality? .... for example rubbing or loss of guard hair or what not

Placed on the south side of a tree will allow it to absorb sun. Provided you can get any sun this time of year.
