It is a software that made this, many notes are missing , or wrong.
@russellzimmermusicАй бұрын
Hello, are you asking a question or is this a statement? I did the transcription as it says, not software. Please let me know which measures are missing or incorrect.
@russellzimmermusicАй бұрын
After doing a quick listen/ watch, I see a couple minor rhythmic things I could re-notate. Weird comment and assumption to imply it was done by computer software.

You are welcome to send the donation to me directly (we can work out in private message) and I will send you the PDF. Thanks for checking out the transcription, it's one of many amazing Donald Byrd solos.

Thanks for doing this Russell. What an awesome tribute! Eric was my first jazz teacher 40 years ago and he got me my first gig. We’ve taught and played together for just as many years. Rest in peace my friend.

I only knew Mr. Bolvin online, but what an enthusiastic advocate for people improving their trumpet playing he was. Whether creating teaching materials or sharing his knowledge and experience freely, there was much to be admired in him. It is sad that he is gone too soon. Thanks for a lovely tribute to him.

I’m sorry for your loss. I did not know Mr. Bolvin, but spoke to him once in 2021 when I purchased a mouthpiece from him. He seemed like a very nice person.

Sorry for the late reply (old video). Mouthpiece order is #1 - Monette B5LD S1 Prana, #2 - Greg Black NY5 top, 4*0 backbore, #3 - GR Wayne Bergeron Studio (wasn't my cup of tea, rim was too flat for me).

Wow! Great horn and great playing Russell. I remember when you were a very young player and would come to Music Village with your mother and sister. I can't remember if you were taking lessons or your sister was taking lessons but you were always so polite and respectful and you had a genuine love for music. Now, you are a Doctor of Music, sharing all the love and knowledge with the world and shaping young minds through the powerful medium of music. You are an inspiration.

Ive heard Fats Navarro described as PreBop but he was right there with them during BeBop 🐬
@satishrobertson8771 Жыл бұрын
Whoever described him as pre bop doesn’t know their history. Maybe they’re mistaking him for his cousin Charlie Shavers.
@dextergilford833611 ай бұрын
Prebop? Probably he and Dizzy were the penultimate bebop trumpeters, no shade on Miles, Howard McGhee or Kenny Dorham but the man was as quintessential a bebop trumpeter as there ever was.

I AM A LAY PERSON AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE USEFULNESS OF THESE ACUTE NOTES. I HAVE LISTENED TO MANY FAMOUS TRUMPET PLAYERS AND THEY DO NOT USE THESE NOTES.
@russellzimmermusic2 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for your interest in this topic. First of all, this is simply a video of a three octave Bb major scale. Next, I’d recommend expanding your musical listening. If you’re confused about the application of this range, please check out big band jazz music. Groups such as the Basie Band, Duke Ellington Orchestra, Dizzy Alumni Big Band, Stan Kenton, there really are many. Lead players such as Roger Ingram, Brian McDonald, Frank Green, Jon Faddis, Maynard Ferguson, there’s a long list of them. I hope that helps you discover new things with trumpet playing. Not everyone has to be into all styles or aspects of music or trumpet playing. Take care!
