Even with all the time that has passed (10 years, 1 month) there are plenty of us out here that just love to get uploads of shows just like this. SuperVideosOnDemand should be commended for having the great patience it takes to wait for people like me to find this by complete accident and then stay to watch what there is. That is not even counting the many who watch these and don't take the time to comment which is well apparent by the number of likes vs the number of views. Greetings SVOD !

Whilst there can be no doubt that Jack Hawkins was a first rate actor and respected personality, I think it only fair to point out that he dis not serve, not was he appointed, as a Colonel during WWII. In fact his official biography lists the following entry: Second World War Having attended an Officer Cadet Training Unit, he was commissioned into the Royal Welch Fusiliers, British Army, as a second lieutenant on 8 March 1941.[8] On 22 January 1944, he transferred to the Expeditionary Force Institutes in the rank of lieutenant.[9] He served with ENSA in India and Southeast Asia.[10] He relinquished his commission as a lieutenant (substantive) on 11 October 1946, and was granted the honorary rank of colonel.[11] During his military service, he made The Next of Kin (1942) for Ealing Studios.

Jack Hawkins,one of the all-time great actors,if only he had given up smoking before it was too late. Incidentally,the miniature medals he is wearing are his own,he served as a Colonel in India during the war.

Miss Lee the artist was played by Patricia Hayes who took many comedy parts but also played the lead in the film `Edna the Inebriate Woman`. Frank Thornton played the auctioneer, he was Captain Peacock in `Are You Being Served` and in later life was `Truly of the Yard` in Last of the Summer Wine.

Good story, thank you for posting this. What was the point of the deceased gentleman's son's complicated scheme to steal, from the gallery, the original painting, which had just been returned to the gallery from his father's home. It makes a great story but had the son simply left the original in his father's home he would have inherited it from his father or could have bought it from the estate at auction.

Over 60 years later the hatemonger playbook remains the same. Attack people until they stand up for themselves and then cry victim.
@WJack972243 жыл бұрын
@Kenneth DeVries, I've witnessed this in the commie/socialist, hate mongering, economics dishonest, slop-at-the-trough, suck-at-the-golden-teat, parasitic, anti-Christian Democrats for over 60 years. Politics is violence and political government is the bane and pain of humanity; it is not Christian. So, attacking the symptoms of evil and not getting at the root cause is an error. The politicians and their fawning, sycophantic politicians and their toadies in the MSM only keep us distracted from dealing with the truth that people have rejected Jehovah God. The Bible teaches us in Revelation that the troika of evil, that wicked consort of politics, commerce and "false religion," will be destroyed in the end. We would be wise to terminate/abandon political governments and "false religions."

Frank Thornton was a lovely man a good friend and we miss him. He was the complete opposite to Captain Peacock as he had a wonderful cheeky sense of humour. Frank was a Flying Officer during the second world war & new someone just like Peacock. His wife Beryl and he married in 1945 & were happily together until Franks death in 2013 aged 93. 🌹
