I’ve also seen you can hook a battery charger to the power leads of the motor and it will move in or out depending on polarity

Yeah ive been dealing with the intermittent p0171 code, i can hear the vacuum leaking near the back of the intake manifold towards the firewall. From what i understand the starter is under the manifold, so i imagine when it was last replaced the manifold was poorly reinstalled, im going to remove the manifold and check the gasket as you did here and ill get back to you 👍

Can you tell me I thought my turn signal was bad on my back drivers side . a cop finally pulled me over and it’s my break light . So what I’m asking is my break light and tail light sure would be in same area and would be easy to fix both at same time ? What ever my problem is is my driver side either blinker or the break the cop told me break but my neighbor said the turn signal

Motorcraft SW-8368 is the part number for the sending unit. I try to use OEM parts versus aftermarket. I found the lowest price on Amazon at $17.34, which was cheaper than Autozone's aftermarket unit. Thanks for posting the video. Interesting info on the resistor in the oil pressure gauge. That would explain why all 3 of my Rangers have almost the same oil pressure reading.

Need your advice. I have a 2009 Colorado w/ 2.9l engine. The issue I’m having is once it gets to the normal heat temperature the rpm drops and shuts down. I turn it back on and last about 10 seconds and shuts down. I already replace the crank sensor, cam sensors, throttle body, o2 sensors. And still does the same thing. Any recommendations you may have on this issue?

I checked the fuel pressure and it is good. I have changed the throttle body , cam and crank sensor and it still looses power. Rpm drops and shuts down. When it was tested with computer the rpm’s were rise to 1000 it stays on. When rpm’s go back to a little below 500 it shuts down. No one that I have called can seem to figure what the problem is. Can you help me with some advice? Thank you in advance.

@rubena6768 I can't remember which wire but there's a wire going to the throttle body that's bad about breaking internally and to test it you look for the wire that has power for a few seconds when the key is first turned on then power goes away, if you don't get any power from it at all then the wire has a break in it and it will also cause those problems, I will try to fins which wire it is and get back with you

my 93 s10 is having issues but unfortunately the previous owner pulled out and lost most of my switches for my steering so i have no way to test if my lights are working except for throwing my hazards on, gonna check my harness to see if its a similar issue but im also not getting any break lights. Replaced the brake light switch just to see if maybe it had gone out due to sitting for so long but no dice. The bulbs are good and running lights work fine so hopefully this is a similar issue if anyone else has any ideas on what the issue could be Id greatly appreciate the help. The truck runs ands sounds real good aside from the lights, I checked the fuse box and everything looked good so heres hoping

Actually that’s a difficult way. The way I do it is to hook up 2 jumper wires to a 12 volt battery and touch them to the outer contacts. It’s only a 12 volt stepper motor that works both directions depending on the polarity you use.

THIS IS NOT NECESSARY ! There is a Super easy way to retract the electric parking brake piston without taking it apart. Simply unplug the electrical connector. Connect the ( + & - ) pins inside with leads from a 12v source like a car battery or jumper box etc .. reversing the polarity. You will begin to hear the motor reversing & retracting the piston. It's JUST THAT EASY ! All the parking brake does is supply 12v power to the parking brake when you press the button. The Piston moves outwards pushing the pad against the disc. When you press the button to release the parking brake a 12v electrical signal is sent to the electronic parking brake in reverse polarity causing the piston to retract backwards which in turn releases the pad tension & inturn the parking brake. Just reverse it. I think there are videos on KZbin or the interweb demonstrating this. Good Luck Folks !

@southernMechanic can you help me out, what did you change out? Also, I have a 2002 ranger with the 3.0 v6 it runs great, but sometimes while driving it flickers like that then shuts off, also it starts having valve noises when it’s showing no oil pressure, which tells me that the gauge is showing it correctly, but what do I need to change to make this stop happening, I’ve got 232,000 miles and it’s been maintained it whole life, I love this truck and I don’t wanna drive it cause it’ll end up blowing the motor. So what can I do to fix this?
