I don’t know who’s worse: A. John Fisher for orchestrating all this, B. Vivek Ranadive for encouraging and being the crux for this all to go the way this is or C. Rob Manfred for allowing all of this nonsense to happen under his watch? You would think that the owners would be too embarrassed to allow this charade of such a public move to occur especially since he likely won’t be the owner once he’s done by… I don’t know how long this will take at the moment. 😡 Let’s also keep in mind that MLB might strong-arm other cities in the same (or various) underhanded ways in the future. The White Sox possibly moving earlier than 2030 because the MLB doesn’t seem to see value 2 teams being in Chicago. The Diamondbacks moving to Utah with that $900 million dollar influx being given out like candy; let’s not forget that Arizona already lost a franchise to Utah already. The Angels also have a contingency to possibly use Portland as a moving option if nothing improves in talks down there; this wouldn’t be the first California city to lose a franchise in this sort of way. Last but not least the state of Florida having likely the Marlins more so than the Rays moving to Orlando if attendance doesn’t improve in the next few years. ⁉️ I’m certain that Montreal isn’t an option since attendance was always bad there. 😭 So much for any chance of seeing MLB expansion teams in the next 2-3 decades. 😂

What bad thing more can you say about Fischer that hasn’t already been said ? That jersey he presented is so meaningless

Alex, Fisher was there for the implosion but still he has not paid his share of the construction costs. The deadline is December and if can't make the deadline all bets are off for Vegas. Fisher will be stuck in Sacramento which is another huge mistake.

Not so sure financing timing has anything to do fmoc > who could just as easily raise rates depending on numerous outside factors having absolutely nothing to do with sports > at the Billionaire/Institutional Investment level, interest isn't much of a factor with Projects as such > many of which are paid off well before the term is up...or in some cases even restructured if rates take a significant dip

Took me a couple days to get thru this. I’ve been too sad, but you guys highlighted the most important part of this whole mess, and that is the A’s fandom coming together. The friendships and closeness of A’s fans is like no other. Whats that saying, “misery loves company”? Our mutual sadness and frustration about the team leaving drew us closer together. I’ll be forever grateful to have met so many genuine and loving A’s fans. And that includes you and Hal! Adios Alex! See you in the spring! 💚💛💚

I was at that game. I am of course a Mariners fan but I felt really sad that the Oakland Athletics won't be in Oakland anymore. A lot of Mariners fans were chanting "Let's Go Oakland" along with the A's fans. It was really special to see the fans there for their last game.

Great podcast fellas. Man I'm gonna miss this team. They've been my favorite since 2001 and I live in the Chicago land area. I never got to see the coliseum in person only when they would play the cubs or Sox out here, but I've watched so many games I felt like I was there in spirit. Boy did this franchise have some amazing players over the years. I even got to see a guy who played on my high school team make his MLB debut with the A's, after 8 years grinding in the minors. Tyler ladendorf. He finally got the call up in 2015. He was the best fielder I ever saw in person until I watched andrelton Simmons and Matt Chapman. His first AB was a triple so that was real exciting seeing that live. He couldn't adjust to MLB pitching but I can't Blame him, the stuff guys have now is truely unbelievable with guys like mason miller with 104mph fb's and guys that can throw a cutter 96, or a slider 89-93. The Oakland fans definitely deserve better though, it's been hard to see how they've been treated by fisher and Manfred these last few years. Hands down the best fans in sports. Thanks again for the conversation, some great stories you guys had. I'll definitely subscribe

Good riddance. Plenty of people are celebrating this move, believe me. Most of the ones lamenting it couldn’t be bothered to show up to most games to show their support, so we know the “emotion” is mostly performative. Fake. Like “devout christians” who never go to church. The rest of us see it for what it is.
@heynowls3058 Right. Game after game after game, nobody shows up to support their team. Then right as they’re walking out the door they beg and plead the team to stay. Just like a bad boyfriend, trying one last time to get his girl to stay even though she’s had enough. Too little, too late. If you really cared about the team, you’d have shown up to all the games. But you didn’t. The numbers simply don’t lie. All this faux outrage is just laughable nonsense.
