**I LOVE THIS GAME DUDE** This was one of my very first japanese survival horror games that i ever played, as flawed and sometimes wonky as it is has a special place in my heart

wow. with the general vibe, ost pedigree, and a heavy dose of that 90's anime meloncoly you were talking about, looks like this game embodies your channel name to a T... i gotta track this game down... Edit: as far as i can tell, the translation was never finished. sadge.

I love your video essays so much! Have you ever thought about covering "I have no mouth and I must scream"? I feel like it would fit perfectly in your topics! :)

This one's pretty darn monumental, looking back on it a few months later it's even better than I remember the first time.

Voice acting is def still average at best but eons better than its peers. Weird this isn’t mentioned at least for that.

The fact that Jennifer gets called to the head master's office, and that we don't actually see Clara die but rather return to a doll, I think Jennifer was about to be the next... Victim, but she left Clara to continue that abuse in her stead. I'm pretty sure the battles, and deaths, are her, coming to terms with those traumas.

Oh, I remember this game! It was... very interesting, but in a good way. And, I admit I kinda enjoyed screwing over that douchebag Homunculus at the end, along with how two of the heroines essentially swapped places in time, which was pretty cool. Oh, so okay... Ending A was the ending i got the first time I beat the game. And yes, Ending A was also my favorite and the 2 Extra endings don't even seem worth getting to me....

As a big fan of TS, what stood out to me most was the nose-dive that the dialogue and characterization took. Honestly, I think a lot less OG fans would've had a problem with MS (which they did), if the characters retained their charm and personalities. I kept waiting for them to feel the same as they did in TS, but the girls kind of became blanks with vague personality traits that would go out the window when it was convenient for the story. I even liked the Prank chapter at first, because it explored some of the conflicts hinted at in the main story chapters (Mika's puppy crush on Yukari, her feelings of jealousy towards Chisato as a result of that, which manifected in Mika seeing Chisato as a threat, her fear of growing up), and it ended up being a great dissapointment. Loved the video <3

I interpret why Clara is killed because she "is becoming an adult" thus become the target of the children's hatred of adults.

As a Canadian, I didn't know that Are you Afraid of the Dark ever showed in the US. I adored this show when I was a kid. It was ridiculous how scary it actually was for kids.
