Thanks Chris! Right beside that tree has become a favorite busking spot of mine! Lots of traffic, and its down at the ocean waterfront, so theres always a nice breeze

Great rendition with the flavor of the original! I like to think how this song became an hit during the British Skiffle craze back in the fifties :)
@KenneyCmusic10 күн бұрын
Thank you! and I'm ashamed to say I dont know much about skiffle, but now that I'm listening to the the Vipers I dont know how this missed my radar. I know Elizabeth Cotten worked as a caretaker for the Seeger family in the 40's, and thats when they discovered she was a folk singer, so that's entirely possible eh!
@mrgildons9 күн бұрын
@@KenneyCmusic You are right and if i well remember Peggy Seeger was the one who introduced this song in England, then Chas Mc Devitt and Nancy Whiskey had a great hit with Freight Train and toured the USA, it's really a curious story :)

It was my turn to wear the clown shoes last night, buddy, sorry, please forgive the messages. Maybe if I'm able to get my phone screen fixed today, I can take and share a picture of the devastation in here. (My first broken phone screen...and all I did was throw it at a pair of camo jorts but somehow miraculously shattered it.) Stuff is scattered, I can't walk without a cane, and I got a lamp shade impaled on the lamp itself, laying sideways. Clown shit happens during booze relapses. I clearly need a break, as I am broken, and cannot stand to look at certain things right now, but I will hover over your music like a bad fart and upvote you for as long as I am able. Or, it'll be a Cyraxx Break and I'll be back tonight, I dunno.

The pirate's life for me As ye can plainly see Me eyes are yellow, red Me crew is nearly dead Hard tak in the morn Hard tak at night Hard tak at midday hour The sailors delight O Captain, my Captain They say with such dismay O Captain, our Captain Deliver us today I love the skies both Blue and red and black as they can be I'll be here till they paint me dead A pirates life for me

Thanks man, I appreciate that! I've always sang with guitar, but not with banjo much because I played more instrumental tunes, but I'm planning on ramping up my public performances. I just bought my busking license 2 days ago. I want to start working on my song writing again too. This is a great tune to practice singing with, I love the chord progression.
