Brilliant series of 'know how' BG, ta very much! Suggestions for more content - shipping/flying a bike (booking, costs, packing, top tips etc). Also - basic pre-ride maintenance and general, ongoing maintenance...and the 'critical spares' to carry. I'll keep thinking! 😊

Good to see you back Barry. Your video has just given me an idea, I live in Lanark on the upper Clyde valley, I wonder if I could follow the river Clyde from source to sea off road? Maps are coming out now....

How on earth are you cycling in winter in the UK AT NIGHT....You're killing me. I had 4 layers on today in Australia in the middle of the day and I shivered the whole way. Chapeau i say! Cold pressed balls of steel!

nice ride and video Barry - it looked good riding along the other side of the river - and no ice this time! cheers

Great video Barry. What I love, is your undeniable love for simply cycling. It's not about how fast you get there, it's about the journey and taking it all in and having fun along the way. Ride a good few miles, stop re-fuel, ride a good few miles, stop re-fuel and repeat. Looking forward to the next video. Oh, one thing, you don't happen to have the GPX for this ride do you? I'm Reigate way and ride to Putney a few times, using the Thames path etc from Kingston, and getting to Kingston via Boxhill/Leatherhead mostly off road, so would like to combine that with this route and ride it slowly and in sections.

Another great video Barry - I love the idea of picking a distance and following a line just to see what you discover. This time you were in my neck of the woods so it was great to see it all shot so beautifully. Can't wait to see where you head to next.

You see that metallic deep sea diver sculpture? That is made of scrap found in and on the banks of the Thames. I know it well. I ride down that part of the river quite a bit in the winter. Nice to see you on the byways I know.

Seeing 100 miles come up on the head unit is the best feeling of achievement. 3 years ago last week me and a good friend rode a 100 mile coast to coast (our own route, Tynemouth to Silloth along Hadrian's Wall). It was the final training ride before we drove to Cornwall to start the Tornado Tribute Tour of England, a memorial ride to commemorate the lives lost in the 91 Gulf War (in its 30th anniversary year). 675 miles over 10 days from St Eval to Washington via Birmingham and East Anglia, with memorial stops along the way. Happy memories (and we raised over £43k for charity!).

Thanks Barry I have watched this video a few times and I think it captures the spirit of the Highland Trail 550 . When it rains in Scotland it rains . Brilliant.
