Very neat video. I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing. There is a pair of Model D John Deere tractors hooked together like this that were apparently the inspiration for the Steiger brothers to invent their big 4x4 tractors. It's here on KZbin pulling a weight transfer sled at a show. Very cool looking and sounding machine.

Thanks for keeping all this alive. As a kid I had a "Claytons" Uncle in the Malley. He used to couple two Twin Cities together with a 354 Perkins in each and pulled three twenty eight run combines. This would have been in the first half of the sixties when you couldn't buy stuff this big so you built it yourself. The cocky built tractor!

@@MatthewPolack in Africa and most of the global south, there has been a war to subjugate enterprise and talent by causing finance shortages, opportunity scarcity and every young person thinks about getting a job nothing more. Now the young people want to make money to purchase leisure things created by the west without working for it as it should. Africa will be industrialized against every effort to make it impossible. Africa will create its own technology, finance, system estranged from the west. They will lose control over the industrialization drive in Africa. It's happening. You will see mega clean coal plants built all over Africa. You will see steel produced in large quantities in Africa. You will see production of tractors, machines outside of the west's grip. Africa will create its own finance to clear the path for its greatness. It will not be denied by their petty debt traps. They will see a new Africa. Mark my words

Yeah I think that was the Doe. A lot of people commented on that in the original double header videos..the brothers didn't know too much about those though...it was more hearing about other farmers engineering solutions locally that got their attention. Hi there, greetings from Australia! We were over your way a few years ago.. loved singing 'Country Roads' like probably most other tourists whilst checking out the beautiful sights! So 'bush' is a term we use in Australia for a more wooded, forested, wilderness type area.. eg. 'We're going out bush'.. so Dad and his brothers called it that because compared to our area in the Wimmera there was just a lot more bush.. hence the clearing of it. Thanks!

These are the type of guys that built this country, often they were sent off to fight in WW2 and if they were lucky they would then come home to Australia, only to have to try and develop some land that was good enough in it's current form to maybe run a Billie goat. That generation was as tough as nails, it's just a shame that current politicians do not share a little of the foresight that these old guys did.
