Great video mate, noticed you said briefly that you had an inverter charger in the video, is that the renogy inverter charger and if so how is that wired up through the One Core display?

Hi @growler477 , I have the old school energy inverter charger 3KW unit. That unit, however, does not integrate to the one core device. While the unit itself is only about 4years old, it is not a smart inverter, but it is bulletproof In terms of reliability. It would be really awesome if Renogy made a AC meter so we could see the inverter load. I think I read that the new inverters integrate to the One Core device .

@Kind_of_Nothin thanks for the quick reply mate, i have the 2000w inverter charger in my camper trailer and i love it, i think it may be an older unit aswell so no huge issue as long as i can see the battery amps i'd be happy as i'm looking at getting the new 300a shunt and Core One as it looks neat as, my current Kickass shunt keeps going to 0% every 2-3 weeks, it's a pain.

@@growler477 you are exactly correct, the older inverter chargers do not have integration capabilities, but they are indeed very well built. The brand new regal series inverter/charger does indeed integrate with all the devices, but it is considerably more money and it was something that I just did not need in this build. I'm also looking at other inverters on the market and this is an exciting time because there are several new series. I'm thinking about upgrading and using a 4000 W inverter charger. Let me know what you guys are using in the comments ! I hope y'all have a great day !

One important thing to consider is the Travlfi data plans available for the 5G router vs the LTE. The 5G data plans start at $129/mo for 100 mbps or $159 for 200 mbps, which is within striking distance of Starlink. The XTR-LTE offers plans as low as $19/month.. On a recent trip we stayed at 2 campgrounds that offered decent free Wifi (~75mb/s down and ~15mb/s up) where we were able to use repeater mode. We started with the $19 plan and upgraded to the $69/month data plan which was sufficient for the rest of the trip. The point being, for a "non-gaming" user, the LTE may offer more flexibility and lower cost that is easily customizable depending on your circumstances.
@ThreeDayRV
@ThreeDayRV 11 күн бұрын
Well said. The first year using the XTR 4g system worked out well. And we pretty much use the $69 plan as mentioned it was enough for what we needed, I did frequently use the XTR router in the repeater mode at several campgrounds, using campground's Wi-Fi save all of our data for the entire week! Each router does have its pros and cons . Great points John!!

So good news! Coming up real soon we will be adding two of the GoldenMate Orion1000 Smart 12V 100Ah batteries with LCD Display & APP Monitoring to our off-grid hunting RV that has none of the high tech high end equipment in it. We will be showing how to do a streamlined up grade, batteries, 700W inverter (so we can watch football at night) a portable charge controller and recycled solar panel. The goal is to set up our fall camp with a simple low cost system. These Orion batteries will be a solid foundation. NO need for shunts, these have a sync cable and BT to check the batteries. Fingers crossed, this should be fun and we will as always show you how we did it and share the real cost... Stay tuned for a deer camp special. #goldenmate

We've been running both monitors for 6 weeks now. We know the TST brand is solid, and so far the GMC system is also. I like being able to use the infotainment display and if a pressure OR temperature gets out of line it pops right up and the truck display, it sets an audible alarm as well. If your tow rig is capable, it is worth the time to install the sensors in your rigs wheels. It's one less external monitor to deal with on the dash! Heading back home from TN! Be safe.

I regret buying this shunt, it's been so unreliable, it refuses to talk to the One Core controller, keeps dropping off from DC Home, needs resetting on a daily basis I contacted Renogy support and was told it wont work with a non Renogy battery !!, then they said you can't use it as a standalone product and you have to buy a One Core panel to use it !!, these are both incorrect, as I pointed out in their own user manual it can be used with any brand of battery, I am using this in a second vehicle with a Li-Time as a standalone through DC Home and all it's been is trouble, latest is a red light flashing and can't find out why, there was a firmware update to One Core a few days ago and not it doesn't talk to One Core anymore, IMO don't waste your money on this it just going to cause you headaches.

Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been on the fence about trying connecten. We full time in our 5th, we have t-mobile home internet now, and use it at our home base land, and it works well, but we also want the ability to have internet wherever we go, and when we travel, that’s important. I’ve tried others like AT&T Internet Air, and Starlink. Starlink doesn’t work for us that well on our land as we are in the mountains with trees all around. So I’m thinking about connecten but can you go into the router itself in config settings, and change the network manually yourself or do you always have to contact connecten if you want to do that and have them change it?
@ThreeDayRV
@ThreeDayRV Ай бұрын
@@mw101376 great questions. The short answer is I believe they're working on a app that will allow you to quickly selecting network that you know is dominant in a certain location. Currently, if you unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in it forces the router to do an update on towers signals . I find that to be the easiest.. it is also easy to call the 800 number and that also is very fast to do, the Call Center is very friendly. Because I do test this in different areas, I have had impressive luck with it . Be sure to subscribe because I have an update coming on a special antenna that I have installed on the roof that is a game changer for this router ! You will want to see this. Beware 3rd party resellers like Nomad, TravlFi, and ConnecTen. They buy plans from the network operators and resell them, often outside of the terms of service. They will work, until they don't. Sometimes it takes years, but they all eventually go away because they get big enough for the operators to catch on and shut them down. You're much safer going with an MVNO that's registered with the FCC and has contracts with the network owners.
