Anyone crazy enough to grab the offcuts, add into a mixture of glue and form "lumpy boulders"? 9:19

This looks sick. Going to try this at some point "when I have time"? 9:26 I wonder if all of those little bits would look good/work as crazy texture for something if you just spread glue evenly on a surface first, then either sprinkle them or spread them so they're even ish? I think that could look really sick.
@TabletopWitchCRAFT14 күн бұрын
Thank you. I get a lot of use out of this set. Yeah that would be cool to challenge yourself with a creation from those bits.

on the air ship bottom... why not use an electric drill?

How to make this without the wire Cutter and jig?

There are ways, playing with foam thickness and using a pencil to carve into the foam.

the structure itself is really pretty, but i feel the paintjob is lacking a bit, i think a little bit of weathering with browns/greens would really make it amazing. Right now the neat all-grey look just makes it a seem a tad fake, or at least boring. Not trying to be negative, just constructive. Keep it up though, do love your work!

That is a very nice tree. I've started one myself but am also struggling with painting the hot glue. I used PVA mixed with paint and fine sand and sawdust, which seems to have done a decent job. But some foil is still visible. Has anyone else found a way to paint hot glue effectively?
@TabletopWitchCRAFTАй бұрын
Thank you. I had no issues once it was primed with mod podge and black paint. Make sure you get a good coating of that on the tree first.
@robertkennedy2548Ай бұрын
I used 2 coats of paint mixed with PVA then one more coat of plain paint so it seems ok. Next time I think I'll use proper primer or Gesso.

Why the metall? Just use magnetic paint. It is so much easier to handle and to build and you can use it even on 3D printed builds.
@TabletopWitchCRAFTАй бұрын
The metal holds a bit better but the magnetic paint will work. I've used it in the past on my channel and I'm actually using it now on an upcoming video :)

I picked this kit up a while ago when my LGS was having a 'get rid of the old stock' sale, I wasn't sure about the foam cutter, since I haven't had the chance to actually build anything with the kit yet, so very glad to see an experienced crafter use this kit. You can definitely see the experience come through with the limitations you set yourself.

Thank you… definitely ways to reduce cost here. You could make the legs out of cardboard and hot glue the same way I made my Fantasy Tree. The lighting could be tea lights, plants could be aquatic fish tank plants, etc. I just tend to go overboard…. I love to do that haha
