The ECU already controls the fan activation and cut off points just fine. You can pick up a amazon 16" fan for like 60 bucks and use the fasteners it comes with to secure it directly to the radiator. Just wire it in to the factory wiring. It will perform as good as the mishimoto or even better because you won't have that gap there between the fan and radiator.

I have one question, My Avin 4 is working only when the key is on ACC or engine started, however my original unit MID was working even with the key in my pocket, I pressed the power/volume button and it worked. It went into sleep mode after 20min. It shuts off if cycle the key or press again power button. Is it possible to make Avin work like that?

I’d love to hear from your perspective, the difference in driving experience between your M5 and M3. Which do you prefer to drive around town and why?

The M3 drives more like a go kart and the M5 drives like an insanely powerful luxury sedan. However, I find myself driving the M3 more because it is not as rare, special, nor as valuable as the M5. The M3 is shockingly practical and I’ve been able to fit my child’s car seat in the back. Also, the parts availability on the M5 is becoming an issue and I have collectors insurance on the M5 limiting my mileage. With all of that said, the M5 is ridiculously fun and gets a lot more attention. The best way to put it…they’re very different cars and if I liked one a lot more than the other I wouldn’t still have both :)

Great detail and DIY. If you want to do sound proofing it's best to place it onto the backside of the headliner, not the metal body just in case you ever need pdr it will be easier to manage.

FYI that secondary air pump can be removed on your car, its sole purpose is to force hot air into the cats on startup to get them working efficiently. You car nas no cats so it can be blanked off. It would need coding out also.

Hello, I have a question: what happens with the rear unit that was originally the "brain" for the satnav? Also, can you throw away the DVD changer? I was considering Avin as a way to lose some weight on my e46 M3 which I'm building into a "clubsport" spec. I have the factory satnav, so that's why particularly your video with running the wires along the car I found very useful. But still it's not clear what happens with the wires at the rear of the car.

That second bung on the header of the the EGT - Exhaust Gast Temperature, something thats deleted with these headers since im assuming you are now catless.

The E 46 phenomenon is very interesting, they don't appreciate very much, and that is an advantage for us, in a way, since we don't have to pay crazy money for such an outstanding vehicle. I owned a 911, a Viper and a couple more 300HP + cars. The sound, vibration and handling of the M3 E 46 is so unique and satisfying that is hard to explain. The shape of this body is perfect to me. I agree with everything you say about this car.

Did you get any issues with alternator whine coming through the speakers as rpm increases when you installed this? Mine is doing this

If you set up the unit correctly and register ibus there’s an option on the bottom left that says “DSP” and if you tap it, it will usually stop that whining/feedback. There’s definitely a teeny bit of feedback but it’s so quiet you can’t really hear it when the engine is running

@@m3blackshadow yeah I have it all setup through the ibus app and have coded the DSP to alter timeout and run mode. But that DSP button just seems to send the start signal again

What if you don’t have the stock oem air box? Can you mount that sensor anywhere?? Near the filter location? Or does it have to be a enclosed area like in that filter?

Overall a great video....540i m-sport owner and on the verge of M5. over 20 BMW's owned, though. the high # of Sponsor mentions was kind of annoying...not enough to dislike, but still, C'mon man!! Thanks for the review!
