Hi, this film is very informative and clear. I just have one question: The HDE acceptance criteria is for no more than 8,000 individuals in the United States per year, not 200,000, correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey. I'm about to join an university, but I can't decide between BME and Medicine. I have a passion for science and I really want to work as a researcher one day, developing equipments or understanding biological mechanisms that are unclear so far, so I have an intrest in learning about this two areas. My question is: Are the engineering subjects of the initial years (calculus, algebra,etc) essential to understand the subjects more linked to medicine (biomechanics, fluid mechanics and computer sciences apllied to medicine)? I'm asking that because in my country I can study medicine and try to go to BME classes in these subjects that are more linked with medicine, but I'm not sure if I would be able to catch up without the initial engineering knowledge. (Sorry for english mistakes) (If you are reading this and are a medical/ BME student pls answer)

Wow finally someone positive. I'm about to study BME and I wasn't sure so I decided to search on KZbin I realized that everyone is complaining about it and it actually made me upset cause I like the idea behind BME that you save people's lives and I like to learn more & more... until I watched your video and you made me smile. Thx

Hi, do you know about bandages? I would like to make custom shaped bandages. Would those need clearance or registration with FDA? I wouldn't be directly manufacturing. They would be made in asia and I would sell in U.S.

Thank you, very helpful (even though I'm not in the market for a handbag ;-) ). Interesting how you don't do many demos or presentations, I thought that was the most common job function. I guess it depends.

Is 510k documents needed for ultrasonic dental tartar removal machine?
@TheBMELife3 ай бұрын
Hi, is that what you would call an ultrasonic scaler? "An ultrasonic scaler is a device intended for use during dental cleaning and periodontal (gum) therapy to remove calculus deposits from teeth by application of an ultrasonic vibrating scaler tip to the teeth." If so, this falls under the FDA product code ELC, under regulation 872.4850. It is a Class 2 device that does indeed require a 510(k) submission before you can market the device. www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfPCD/classification.cfm?id=ELC Hope this helps!

Hello!! Can a bpharm graduate able to do masters in bme
@TheBMELife4 ай бұрын
It's definitely possible, although there would probably be some engineering-related courses you'd need to take in order to satisfy some of the prerequirements. Most masters degrees require that you complete a bachelors degree in a related science or engineering discipline.

Mam, is biomedical Engineering and medical engineering the same ? I mean in some countries there is no biomedical engineering course but medical engineering course is available….in internet medical engineering is just another name for biomedical engineering in some countries….iam looking to study abroad so i have a confusion about the course….pls reply
@TheBMELife4 ай бұрын
I would say technically they might have slight differences, but in practice should be interchangeable. I’d also say it gets very tricky, as the field can highly vary country to country!

Most masters in BME require that you have a bachelors in a related engineering or science field. I think making the switch would be possible, although you might need to get some extra BME-specific classes. I would check with your university of interest!
