Nice work! Only a friendly advice and recommendation: please use rubber gloves when working with these kinds of putty. They are often epoxy based and in any case not good for your skin or health. Hello! Have you ever attempted the bstanley o-ring buffer mod? from the posts i have seen it seems to be simple and it increases the amount of shots significantly.
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner3 күн бұрын
Hi there, nope I have never tried that mod before, tell me more, how does it work
@fearme36263 күн бұрын
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner You basically need to fit a few o-rings between the valve and the hammer. They are supposed to reduce hammer bounce as the pressure slowly drops.
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner3 күн бұрын
Oh ok, I have heard of it but haven't tried it. Probably something I should look into Thanks
@HiddenonAir3 күн бұрын
Hello, Tyrone! Greetings from Bulgaria. I like your idea for reducing the size of the brass transfer port. Just a few notes from me. CP1, CP2 and Diana Airbug have different triggers. They have one, two and three screws for regulation respectively. Also, CP1 does not have a safety button. The most important thing here is, that these triggers can be significantly improved by changing the factory screws with screws with ball bearings on their tip. I purchased few from Aliexpress and they work very well. Probably it will be interesting for you, that a guy from Russia changed the metal hammer (or striker) with a much lighter made of polymer called POM-C. Its weight is only 7 g. He also put a shorter, but stronger hammer spring. Now his pistols has more consistent shots. You can take a look of his work if you search for a video called "Black Strike B024. Часть 6. Ударник из ПОМ-С." Of course, the video is in Russian but you will get the main idea. In the video info he posted a link to a Russian airgun forum with a lot of experiments with CP1. Perhaps you can read it using Google Translate.

Have you measured a shot string before, and after the tuning exercise Tyrone?
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner5 күн бұрын
Hi Kobus, I did measure before and after on the CP2 but not on the CP1. They should be very very similar though because the only actual difference is the barrel length, otherwise they are basically the same internally

Can one use Ballistol inside CO2 guns ?
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner5 күн бұрын
I would probably not recommend it on o-rings and seals. It is great though on the outside, barrel breech etc, it creates a good anti-corrosion layer
@KolaDiver5 күн бұрын
My CZ200S has been cleaned and lubed with Ballistol only for 18+ years and I have yet to replace an o-ring. This was more a result of what I had on hand, and what I have been using on rim, and centre fire rifles and handguns for many years. On all my newer rifles I use silicone oil on the o-rings and this is what I would recommend as well.
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner5 күн бұрын
@KolaDiver Thanks sharing your experience, I guess ballistic can be used internally then
@KolaDiver5 күн бұрын
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner I shared it only because I doubt it will do any harm if already used, not necessarily because I still believe it is the best for o-rings, these days I also use silicone oil for o-rings.
@jeffslade18925 күн бұрын
There is a general misconception with moly grease - its purpose is a non-stick surface coating to prevent seizing in high pressure joints. It is an anti-seize compound. It is not a good lubricant. The spring might be better lubricated with a mineral gun oil with maybe a thin smear of lithium grease (LM) on the ends (not the white muck). Oiling the body of the spring is mainly to prevent corrosion.
@dielanion5 күн бұрын
It provides wear resistance and reduces the friction coefficient of steel on steel even after being wiped off. Molybdenum disulfide bonds to and fills micro surface roughness in steel alloys.
@dielanion5 күн бұрын
Mineral oil will kill his o-rings.
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner5 күн бұрын
Thanks Jeff, on the PCP or CO2 guns I don't usually lubricate the whole spring but just the ends. I want it to function kind of like a top hat on a springer. Just allowing the spring to rotate freely in the hammer. Definitely that torque movement is significantly reduced with the method I have used
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner5 күн бұрын
Thanks yip it is working well. The spring is turning nicely within the hammer without catching so serving it's purpose.
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner5 күн бұрын
I haven't experienced this on any of my guns and I have been using sewing machine oil on my o-rings for many many years. What would you recommend instead?

Hello Tyrone, greetings from Serbia, out shooting the other day and realized -5 celzius was too cold as the cp2 mechanics froze due to cold gassing of the capsule, so i pulled the thing appart amd analyzed the internals carefully, i think i will widen the port somewhat and install a lower force spring on the valve, still have to find the proper lowerf force spring for the valve amd greater force spring for the hammer, this video of cp1 tuning is really nice. I really started to enjoy this little marvel.
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner5 күн бұрын
Hi, glad you enjoyed the video. Yes the co2 doesn't like the cold, it is the biggest negative to co2. If you open the ports just remember everything must be balanaced, sometimes you need to open the ports and increase hammer spring tension

@j.m.214319 күн бұрын
Hello greetings. Increasing spring pressure is not effective, because gas will continue to come out when the pellet is no longer in the barrel. The only thing that happens is that we waste CO2.
@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner19 күн бұрын
You are correct if you increase the spring length too much the hammer will rest on the valve and keep it open
@j.m.214318 күн бұрын
@@African-Budget-Pellet-Gunner I mean at the moment of the shot, when the pellet has already left the barrel, the extra gas no longer pushes it and does not use it to accelerate and we waste gas.

Pellet sorting is obviously more useful with budget-friendly pellets than with premium brands. As you mentioned, it is important to always place the pellet in the center of your precision scale. Because your concentration unconsciously dilutes while sorting an entire tin, I simply placed a dot exactly on the center of my scale with an alcohol marker. This definitely makes the weighings a little more accurate.
