Doesn’t fasting on women raise cortisol
@LiveLeanHealth
@LiveLeanHealth 24 күн бұрын
@@enough425 it depends on how it is done. Different hormones like different fasts and when those fasts are longer and cortisol goes up then the lifetime kicks in to offset with smart exercises and mindful stress management practices to control it..

Do you recommend Dr Brooke Goldbergs protocol? It’s so confusing to know how to eat! Sounds like vegan diet isn’t best for me -I’m thin and almost 50 bc I eat a lot of veggies but I do have starch My hormones are low always my whole life and No periods I’m scared to do HRT -I notice muscle loss in legs and bloating from my diet and stress Should I go back to eating chicken green veggies?
@LiveLeanHealth
@LiveLeanHealth 24 күн бұрын
@@enough425 hi Anne, I truly believe you need to firstly understand your body: are you absorbing the nutrients, are you eating enough? Are you supporting your key organs. The diet is a guidelines to support your own needs. Dr Goldberg has a good protocol that focuses on neurological regeneration, that is amazing, you can try it, and maybe it will work for you to help you cleanse your gut and absorbing better. Suppory your adrenals and so on. I don't tend to advise absolutes because I know some women need bespoke approaches too. But it is brilliant that you are having all the veg . That is soooo important. Fiver fiber fiber xx

@@enough425 please do strength training , weights are paramount. If you suffer from oedema ( swelling) then lymphatic and kidney/liver cleanse can support . As for greens: yes always and animal products, I don't think they are necessary, but a good amount of protein is key. Tofu/Tempeh are great options. Also, HRT is not scary, I would def check your hormones levels and if too low, considering bioodentical is not a bad idea. Progesterone cream vaginally and estradiol patches work well for most women. A good conversation to have with OBGYN..alternatively, herbs like ashwagandha, Rhodiola, maca, Shatavari, can support hormones too.

Great advice Chantal. When I turned 48 I started to detox once a year with 24 hour dry fast once a month. My diet consists of fruit till noon and a green juice before dinner then a cooked meal for dinner that consists for the most part vegetables. Is cholesterol actually a problem? The supporting science is very weak. Why only in humans?
@LiveLeanHealth
@LiveLeanHealth 4 ай бұрын
@@jerome4276 there are nuisances in answering this question. Science does show over and over a strong correlation between cholesterol and heart disease/cardiac events. But it is not as straightforward as high LDL and low HDL as we once thoughts. Lipoproteins are better markers to consider for cholesterol, as well as homocysteine levels. There are certainly people who may have the highest cholesterol levels and never have an issue, and the opposite is also true. We certainly need to evaluate the grit of the entire cardiovascular system. There are lifestyle and dietary factors that impact those of course ( like a diet lower in fiber is proven to affect the cardiovascular system). Then there is also an argument that when people who have heart attacks ( for example) are found to have low cholesterol when tested at the hospital. We now know that that is a physiological response to something acute ( like heart failure or heart attacks) happening. So it is not a yes and no answer. But when we look at statistical risk then yes, high cholesterol and mostly Lipoprotein ( ApoB for example) will def increase the chance of cardiovascular disease. Hope this helps. I think following @nutrionmadesimple is a good idea, he covers cholesterol extensively 🙏🙏

Hi Chantal, Thanks, good talk, and you do look great! I have a question about the nuzest. On the tub, one of the ingredients listed (in small) is 'Sweetener (Steviol Glycosides)' - is that not a derivative of Stevia? I recently started using this on your recommendation but find it does have a funny, unnaturally sweet aftertaste.
@LiveLeanHealth
@LiveLeanHealth 4 ай бұрын
@@user-nz8jx6bx1g hello thank you for asking this. So Steviol Glycosides are indeed compounds found in Stevia but there are about 40 of them. When I say Nuzest doesn't have Stevia ( and actually i need to be more specific. Thank you) I mean, I believe they use the plant , which is why I found there is no bitter "stevia" aftertaste..but I now wonder if it depends on the product as you mentioned you find it has a funny taste. Can you tell me which product form Nuzest you are using so I can ask? If you are using the good Green Vitality, the "funny" taste is probably Ashwagandha as that is what pops at me, but I am super used to those roots so it does not bother me and I pick up on something citrussy more.. looking forward to hearing back x

Initially they might seem. This is a topic that comes up a lot. The carnivores diet is an elimination diet and there are two things that happen here. 1. People go from am extremely processed diet to eating only meat and do lose weight, feel better and can even reverse inflammation and disease. This is an adaptive response. But humans are designed to establish a diversity of fiber. And the lions diet doesn't have that ( or nearly enough) 2. People who move to the lions diet and have poor digestion and feel better eliminating fiber, really do. Problem is: they don't then rehabilitate the gut by reintroducing the prebiotics that feed the microbiome. Long term they are not going to be healthy.which takes me to the point : there is NO long term evidence or studies that show the lions diet to be beneficial. Right now, it is anecdotal and no controlled studies show that a diet solely based on animal products and saturaesd fats is healthy. Please visit Nutrition Made simple to check out the studies and research. Do your own. I love Dr Morse, and his approach is designed for regeneration. I don't think we should all be fruirarians all the time or if we don't have to truly reverse disease, but I equally don't think that the other extreme is correct. And I also know that prompting high cholesterol when we have evidence of a direct correlation to heart disease is recklessly irresponsible. Moreover, the carnivore diet community never looks at APoB. Check out Simo Hill podcast: The Proof and again Dr Gil Carvalho s Nutrition Made Simple to review some of the science. Thank you for listening

How are alkaline foods still alkaline when the stomach is acid and breaks all food down with acid. Where is the alkaline breakdown of foods?
@LiveLeanHealth
@LiveLeanHealth 5 ай бұрын
The best way to think about it is the net effect they have in the body and how rich in antioxidants, chlorophyll etc they are. The hydrochloric acid in our stomach doesn't change the PH of the food as such. It breaks down micros like protein. But ultimately the net effect of PH in the body depends on how the body impacts the pathways in our body. More micronutrients more alkalinity as they promote body homeostasis. I would say: food helps the body do its job. As as with detox: our body naturally detoxes but what we ingest , apply on our skin etc is whether promotes this or stops the process from working well

Sadly here in Europe too I cannot order directly form the herbs makers and rely on distributors but ends up being cheaper than with shipping and customs in the US.
