Realistically? Not just New Players. Unless you're masochistic glutton for punishment - it's too hard for anyone that doesn't have a decade of legacy knowledge. It's just way too bloated. I'm playing since T3 and still get caught off guard by shit i've no idea how to deal with every now and then. Now imagine someone without years of experience and matchups being downloaded into muscle memory being expected to have fun against 30+ characters, with a 100+ moves each, half of them with either cheesy or gimmicky BS. Unless said player enjoys being sodomized 24/7 online while having no idea what the hell is even going on and/or enjoys making lab into a full time job trying to catch up on all the knowledge necessary, then EVERYTHING is a knowledge check and it's pretty hard not to be murked by every other character - then yeah, it might be "too hard". There's a reason why FG are niche and have microscopic player retention. Source: myself. I'm nowhere near competitive, but bouncing around the blue ranks I figure I'm a bit better than average, and believe me - trying to get my irl gaming buddies into Tekken was an abysmal failure. Once the novelty of pressing random buttons and having cool shit happen on screen wore off, the realization of sheer mass of things they needed to learn to stop being frustrated and have fun made them NOPE out immediately, with one going as far as saying he "doesn't need another job" playing Tekken.

2 things about the "expanding the weapon types" section: there are historically 3 characters using axes in the series, Rock in his Soul Edge version, Astaroth, and Lizardman. only Astaroth made it into 6, which is a damn shame, but there are axes in the series. Secondly, the Americas are discovered in the series' timeline, and Rock was even born there, having a native American character could totally make sense

couldnt agree with this more. it isn't fun learning long combos, it isn't fun getting hit with long combos. i hate how fg have transitioned from "lets jump in and have some matches" to "lets jump into training for hours before we even start". yeah everything doesn't need to be divekick, but this comboporn shit is wack.

You can find out what's your skill when you watch pro players play and see how many of the things they are doing and reacting is something you do regularly.

Rank doesn't really determine if you're good or not but still it's fun and competitive but it does get to your mind sometimes and I my self get really angry sometimes especially if I got beaten by a dumb play style which is not that rare there are people that play really strange and dumb but still if you can't figure a counter play they will beat you.

Yesterday I reached Demi God which is my goal for this season as I'm new to fighting games and haven't reached it yet and the 1st match I got was against a Warrior which is like 3 ranks below which means I will get back to the lower rank if I lose and this really puts a pressure on you. Otherwise the rank doesn't mean anything someone can be the 1st rank if they haven't played but he could actually be 3 times better than you.

When I lose to the AI in towers it almost never makes me angry but when I lose to someone with lower rank than me in Kombat League I sometimes get really mad and it's not becuase he is lower rank but because the fact he is lower rank it means it will deduct more points from me.
