Sadly pressing the catch inside won’t open mine. I press the button on the outside and it sounds like it’s trying to open but won’t fully release. Tried wd40 and the little catch but nothing works 😔 looks like off to a garage for me!

Bit confused. My 2014 Panda Trekking V5 doesn't give the HP but says its output is 62KW which seems to equal 83.1 HP. so I assume I have the 85HP model? The manual states that lubricants for the 0.9 litre 85 HP twin-air turbo is 5W-40 (Fiat 9.55535-S2) but if I look up my model online it says it's a Euro 6 model which is supposed to take 0W-30?
@AMSVauxhall13 күн бұрын
@@mgml Hi buddy! Yes, this is the same issue I had if I remember but I was lucky enough to have access to Autodata which told me my one was a Euro 6 so I used the 0W/30. Whichever one you use will be fine though as long as you use the same oil going forward. Andy 👨🏼🔧

I didn't see the gasket on the top of the engine when you went to install the cover, so I guess the gasket goes into the cover before installation? Also, why fit a new cover, rather that just a gasket? Is that necessary to stop the leak?

@AMSVauxhall3 ай бұрын
@@danielchristianweber9823 yes but you will need a timing lock kit. There is a T55 torx bolt on the front of the block. Hello. I have an oil leak running down the side and even underneath the engine. I’ve had one mechanic tell me it’s the rocker gasket (as in this video) and another tell me that it is the camshaft/crankshaft seals. The mechanic telling me it’s the rocket gasket works as a senior Vauxhall technician and told me this issue is widely misdiagnosed by garages as being the camshaft/crank shaft seals. The reason why I’m cautious is because he is only basing this off photos I’ve sen What do you think? I want to try and replace the rocker gasket myself. Will it be obvious that it needs to be replaced, for example the rubber being brittle?
@AMSVauxhall4 ай бұрын
@@uplightuk8924 as a Vauxhall mechanic myself, I would agree that it is most likely the cam cover gasket but the best way to diagnose it is to strip it down to see. Yes the gasket will be hard if it is past it’s best. You could pull the coil pack out and see if oil is on the end of the coil pack / spark plugs as this would confirm that the gasket has failed. I have an Astra J GTC, the clutch line came off. The clutch pipe came off and the metal clip got broken near the elbow. I am not getting the pin, so getting a new elbow from GM. Not sure how to fit that elbow though, hope it's plug and play. But clutch/brake bleeding need to be pressurized as I see in your video. I can get a Sealey pressure bleeder same as yours, it's a bit expensive though. I tried doing the normal 2 person method, but the pressure was probably high, even though the clutch felt fine. Doing a repair for the first time, too scared.
