Think I'd load the suspension before tightening the shocks: not sure those rubber bushes are meant to turn in the housing.

The bushes don’t turn when torquing up but yes everything should technically be torqued up under load but at circa 70nm you will be safe enough 😉

Where did you get the torque settings? Seen others saying 80nm top and 70nm bottom Others online, including a photo of a manual say 90nm for lower bolt and 70nm for top (similar to yours) Be great if you could clear this up for me, the conflicting info on various forums and KZbin videos is confusing. Thank you

@@roryattwell4455 info is from auto data or tech4techs info as it was my garage business at the time. You won’t see any difference between 70NM and 80NM so it won’t matter too much Andy 👨🏼🔧

Thanks Andy, it was just more confusing as the tension is flipped between the top and bottom (I.e. one lots of number saying the top bolt has the higher nm rating and the other set saying that the bottom has the higher nm rating) I'm very novice and just don't wanna mess it up. Mine's a 2015 fiat 500 lounge 1.2

@@roryattwell4455 top bolt is definitely not tighter than the bottom. The top bolt it tightening against to body of the car which is very soft steel. The bottom bolt is tightened to the axle which is obviously a lot stronger steel

Where did you buy the shocks from bud?

I got these ones from eBay buddy Andy👨🏼🔧

Think I may replace my wife's for the rear gas absorbers. Does it drive better?
@AMSVauxhall8 ай бұрын
Wasn’t really an issue with the shock absorber itself but the bushes at the top had failed which cause a horrendous loud knocking noise when driving Andy 👨🏼🔧
